Lowest Priced New Basses Ever??

If this deal is legit, and it comes up again I'm going to buy five just to fulfill my dream of smashing a bunch of basses on stage.

I'm starting to think that there is a bunch of shill accounts out there. I found a blue glarry supposedly here in Los Angeles which is near me for the 1799 oh, and the guys rating is all fluffed up by Bots which a whole bunch of these different user accounts could be fluffed up by Bots. If it's a scam I know I'll still get my money back but this doesn't look good.

weren't they selling before thursday for $30? and shipping from the U.S.? if so, wouldn't those account for the earlier feedbacks?

I assume the image posted is from a phone app which doesn't give complete info.

On my computer it shows that the latest batch of '0' feedback buyers paid $17.99. It also lists the transaction number which shows they were from the most recent listings that are shipping from New Jersey.

The eBay feedback system, which I previously had assumed to be mostly accurate, definitely looks like it's being gamed by this seller and his critics.

As I posted elsewhere:

Just speculation on my part but . . . it almost looks like he's in a bit of a feedback battle of sorts, perhaps with one or more of the other sellers who've been listing these for ~$59 and more for quite some time now. His listings, whether legit or scam, have got to be killing their sales.

As @pcake pointed out on another thread, the negative feedback seems to be directed at him personally more than anything. There are no claims of items not being delivered or any complaint specific to the transaction.

The latest few negatives, again all from a single buyer, have transaction numbers that link to his earlier listings from only a couple of days ago which are supposed to ship from China. No way they could have been delivered to anyone's door yet even if they were flown in overnight.

On the other side, it seems like there are an inordinate number of positive feedbacks from buyers with "0" feedback, meaning that this was their first purchase on eBay. I suspect they may be shills who he has enlisted in order to help him keep his feedback rating up.

I'm starting to view this feedback battle as entertainment. Overnight, a slew of these '0' feedbacks have been added, which is obviously designed to keep his overall feedback rating from sinking too low.

I haven't read eBay's rules in a while but I suspect there may be limitations placed on sellers whose feedback rating drops below a certain percentage.

One thing is for sure - since eBay is so protective of buyers there's no problem getting a refund if they never ship.

I bought my $35 bass on Feb 2nd. I had it in my hands by the 6th.

This seller is good with responding to questions. Though, he didn't specifically answer my "are you some kind of magician?" question. He assures me I'll have my order in 5 days. Mind you, 1 item doesn't even have a tracking number. He hasn't let me down yet. :smug: 1 for 1 or 100%

I'm not too concerned at this point. I have a feeling I'll get my order. Even if I don't, I'm protected. Even if I wasn't, the bass was $14.99.

My tracking number, when inputted into 17Track, says that the destination is in the US... but I'm in Canada :bored: Wonder if it gets rerouted?

Hmm, I am an Albertan too, and using track 17, mine shows usps as well..

They are coming to my house. I'll let y'all know how good they are.

I'm in the UK, and mine is apparently going via the US too. How they can afford the double shipping for the price is anyone's guess.

The seller claimed this was due to the coronavirus outbreak, but it's more likely that they're shipped from the same NJ warehouse other Glarrys have come from and he meant that that was the reason for the delayed China->US shipment, which seems reasonable.
