Markbass blue cabinets

Markbass has 4 new 'blue' cabinets in their lineup. Not sure if the blue panels actually have some sort of sonic function or is purely cosmetic. It's well known that the Markbass orange logo and cones are divisive among the bass community. I am curious to see how people feel about these?? Is Markbass at NAMM??

I'm sure it's purely asthetic. I've not seen one in person but I'm not personally attracted to them. I'd get the black cabs.

The blue definitely doesn't do a thing for me, maybe if the cabs were completely blue except for the grills and the cones were all black, maybe.

I'll stick to my black and yellow ones, according to some that's bad enough as it is, see the comment posted right after this one. 🤣

I'm not totally opposed to the yellow speaker cones on an all black cabinet. It's the giant MARKBASS on the front that I don't care for. That being said I have zero experience with the sound or function, never got to try one and they are too expensive to try on a whim.

The blue doesn't really work with the yellow, in my opinion. Unless there's a "super secret sonic" benefit I'd say no to those.

You just gave me an idea, I'll try it in Photoshop first to see how it looks. Could tape off the grill and paint those yellow Markbass logos black.

I bought a used Hartke 410 cab from a guy for 60 bucks cause no one would buy it from him. That happens when you paint the grill red 🤣
A 5 dollar can of Krylon flat black, a 3 dollar bottle of Testors' silver model paint and some masking tape fixed that issue.

Funny when people pass up what might be a great value purchase because of something that can be fixed with 10 mins of effort and minimal expense.

I always assumed that just removing the giant MARKBASS logo would improve the look of the amps. But that would only work if it was attached with screws like the Fender ones are. Maybe they aren't? Don't know, never really looked.

Your final result is a big improvement over the red.

I do not like it, yet I checked specs, and it's some very light material. 4x10 cabinet at 16.5kg, vs. 28.4 of Fender Rumble 410 (and 20 something for the "normal" Markbass). However, I am sure it could have been done in a different color :)

It couldn't look any uglier!

I didn't realize that blue paint is lighter than orange paint. I never thought of the MarkBass color as "yellow".
