Mesa Subway D-800+

Back on the rail guys, please.

Money to burn and multiple amps, yet griping on one hand about an improved model coming to market while simultaneously crowing about the software updates for anither device that is tageted toward a completely different audience. And the silly commentary about it doing everything including making coffee.
This sort of swiss amy knife product just congers up in my memory visions of this:

To each their own.

Agreed! My D-800+ should arrive this week. I'm excited!

Actually, that DDofS attack this past Friday has me doubting the wisdom of the _Internet of Things_. An article in Popular Mechanics said the attack was probably carried out by hijacking smart appliances.

So I'm pretty glad my D-800 _won't_ start my coffee pot.

They're not "bargain" or "low priced". Mesa never is, and that's OK.

They're priced in line with competitor offerings while coming very late to the Class D party. That's also OK.
The 5 year transferable warranty, is part of the value equation.
build quality, and reputation of reliability also bring value to the table.
These additional items make it a comparative bargain when measured against other products in it's price bracket.

Note to Mesa, from an owner of 8 amps/cabs with your logo on it and who is highly computer literate with an IT-related diploma and typing this on my phone (so don't mistake me for Luddite); if you ever make an amp with a screen, menus, USB, etc, I won't buy or play it if it's the last amp on earth.

And I'll probably ditch the Mesa gear I already have.

Class D is going plenty far enough. Stick to your guns.

I like sports cars and would rather bite down on a file and rip it outta my mouth than own an SUV. The Porsche GT3 RS is a truly great modern sports car but would I pass on it just because Porsche also makes that stupid ****ing Cayenne? Not a chance.

Boy, you sound just like a Luddite to me! "Send all those fancy new spinning frames and power looms straight to Hell! The old way is the right way!" :rollno:
But for me, keep bringing on this great 21st Century technology!! :bassist:

I have trouble fitting all my gear in a GT3 RS! But I can get it all in my Toyota Highlander.

I'd hate to be misunderstood, so here's where I stand on this.

1. I think Mesa builds very high-quality amps. That is their well-deserved reputation.

2. I own two of their amps and like them.

3. I'm not in such a snit that I'm going to pull the old, "I'll never buy Mesa again" thing. The contrary is more likely.

4. I'm a capitalist - I understand the profit motive. So from that perspective I don't blame Mesa management for doing what they think will serve their shareholders best.

5. I have no ill will toward Andy or Mesa.

6. Bottom line, I said what I said, and I am disappointed that both amps weren't released at the same time so we could choose between the two. I would've been thrilled to pay the extra $100 for the additional features.

Admitted hyperbole on my part... I wouldn't ditch any gear.

As a (former) Porche owner too, I can definitely empathize!
