Mini Rigs of Doom-Let's see 'em!l

I'm not looking to "beat" anybody's rigs here... To me, my rig is just a portable as any of these two cab rigs here, and lighter. That to me is the ultimate "mini" rig. A normal "rig" to me is something along the line of two 80-100lb cabs run of off a heavy head. I remeber when people would drag their 4x10 and 1x15 or ampeg 8x10s with their huge, heavy, heads to gigs. Compared to those "rigs", my rig is mini. Some in this thread may be smaller in actual size, but are not a light and portable as mine. My rig of the UL410 powered with the UL502 is the ultimate gig rig that can handle anything thrown at it short of a stadium, and I don't think I'll be playing any of those any time soon. I can carry the whole thing out to my car in one trip.......Why am I even debating this?

Those are nice looking cabs, indeed. I'd like to try one out when they are available.

I'll have a custom LDS 1x12" in about a month. Then give me a few more months and I'll put an Ashdown Superfly on top. Until then, it'll be like a lead ball... 1x12" run by an all-tube Ampeg V-2... probably 50 lbs in the head alone.

Them's a couple o' funky rigs alright! My first brand new amp was a V4B w/ a Traynor 18" folded horn, It also had 2-8 inchers the front. Hah! Traynor is weird and wonderful stuff!

+1...I have a UL410 currently and I am getting a UL502 from jong at jivesound tomorrow!! (sorry jong I washed my cell phone and lost your number!! Got it now though from the site today and will call you tomorrow!!!!!!) I have a roadcase for my 410 and the cab and case weigh less than my Bergantino NV610...I am picking up a cover from jong for the 410 and will use that in lieu of the case when I can to save weight! I totally agree that to me, this IS a mini rig of doom....by the way, I would use this rig in a stadium and augment it with a monitor if necessary....the best 410 cab I have ever heard at any size or weight....

the first week i got my 112 the handle scratched the bottom of my 502 :(

just went to my local home depot, and headed to the door accessories section where i found a few wall stops for freely swinging doors. great for elevating the unit up off the top handle of the ul112 which can scratch the bottom of the head. but unfortunately, they also do make the unit hard to fit in my eden gig bag, which is side loading.

FYI, i'm actually gonna get an EA head bag, cause its top loading, which makes it much easier to store the unit w/ the big ol' feet.

+1 As I've posted a few times before, that 410UL has really turned the concept of 'mini rig' on its ear, since it's actually lighter and easier to move around than many 'mini rigs', and as Tommix posted, can be used in virtually any situation. Truly a remarkable piece of gear... as light as most 210's (even lighter than many!!!), and literally the best sounding 410 of any size and weight I've ever heard.... crisp and clean up top, with a nice amount of character and growl down below, with the addition of true, clean, punchy bottom.

They were originally made for Corey at Rock City Guitars. They must have been too flashy for him cause they sat in the box for 2 years never used. I got them from him a few months ago. Jim says he will make no more!:smug:

that is actually what i thought they looked like but i didnt think it was gonna be that simple :D

i dont mean to be a pain but how did you attach them, did you put them over the old feet or remove the old ones and glue them on?

Besides, now that someone has posted a 2x15 cab driven by a 60s tube head, all bets are off on this being a "mini" rig thread, anyway.




Waiting for the SVT/8x10 mini rig.....
