they really could do well if they took my suggestion and started selling accessories ie: cases, carbon fiber control covers, merch, graphite picks(?) etc.

Totally agree. I know a few local Mobsters here in Massachusetts that would be all over that stuff like carbon fiber covers, necks, knobs, cases, etc... . In terms of merch, I am happy to say I bought 2 long-sleeved Modulus t-shirts, black and white (circa 2004) that I have worn to many gigs and many trips all over North American and the Caribbean. I think I need some new threads, don't you?

Glossy on all mine. Quantums, Bassstar's and Genesis's - 4,5 and 6'ers.. Glossy

it was only a few years before the shutdown that modulus went from gloss to satin. i'm guessing around '07-'08? i believe it was around that time when geoff switched from gloss to satin also.

thumb drag is a drag...

I have two modulus basses, one satin one gloss. Honestly I don't notice much difference when I play. Both feel smooth and plasticy, the satin just feels a little softer in texture. No difference in drag though IMO.

I know it's been a while...

Definitely going to have to agree regarding thumb drag on the glossy necks. As you all know, it bothered me so much that I had mine refinished in satin, definitely improved playability and reduced unintentional over-extension from my thumb dragging behind.

Ah, that explains it: My 1988 Quantum originally had a glossy (well, actually kinda semi-glossy) neck, but when I sent it back to Modulus for some neck work around 2007 it came back with a satin finish!

soooo... the modulus case on evilbay sold for almost $150 shipped. curious to know is it the modulus name on the case that propped the price up? or is it "plastic case vs. tolex case"?

anyone ever put a Flea neck on a fender P bass? Did it fit or did you have to drill extra holes or shave down the cavity?

Also, it was a quantum case. The ad was wrong. I bid on it but too rich for my blood

That wasn't a quantum case. I had one just like it. It did not fit any of my Q's or my Genesis basses. I believe it was a Flea case. It was plastic with a Modulus logo branded into it.
