I play a Steinberger L2 bass. It must have been who you heard playing one and what amps they used. Mine does not sound flat and dead at all.

I cannot believe so many people have mentioned bagpipes as being annoying, and so few have brought up the accordion. Bagpipes and uilleann pipes can be absolutely amazing in the right hands. The best accordion player in the world sounds like a carnival midway.

Zydeco. No bagpipes. Accordion. Case closed.

I did--- it changed my life for a while until I was able to ween off the medication I had to take for a while after the incident

I've played a few, have a friend who's owned 3-4. You have to admit, they definitely aren't as warm sounding as a nice resonant wood body?????

There was a guy who used to come to open-mics where I lived who would play the 'pipes. He was ok, but an "ok" bagpipe player really isn't that discernible from a bad one, and I'm pretty sure he was a sadist that just liked torturing people.

I don't think that bagpipers are sadists, however there is obviously something seriously wrong with all of them. I think that it's more that they are completely oblivious to the fact that they are making people and animals hate everyone and everything.

My question: you said "open mics" (plural). How the hell was he allowed to do this more than once?
