Most annoying instrument (to your ears)?

He said bagpipes were bliss compared to steel guitar. Both instruments were part of the conversation.

Right, but it doesn't make sense to me. You said "I take it you are not a country music fan. I love the sound of bagpipes and a pedal steel." This only makes sense if your two sentences have nothing to do with one another. Usually they would. I.e., I read your statements to mean "I take it you are not a country music fan; but I am and therefore I love the sound of bagpipes and a pedal steel." But apparently they are just two semi-related statements that don't follow from one another. Ok, I will stop belaboring because I say plenty that could be taken apart like that...with that said, I hate bagpipes and I love pedal steel and old country and new country that sounds old.

LOL sorry for the confusion,

This whole conversation has me cracking up.

I'd like to take this opportunity to ask what kind of a parent buys their kid a drum set to learn? I'm guessing the kind with a detached garage or soundproof basement!

Seriously ... I absolutely love such an essential instrument, but I think if I were a parent, I would probably encourage my child to learn something that's not bangy or shrilly .... like the bass! :woot:
The non custodial divorced parent. ÷)

An instrument that can't be played. That's the instrument that I can't stand the sound of. Other than that, some of the cheesy, early synth sounds could quite possibly the only thing that can get to me. Ooh, and those whiny-sounding steel guitars. But, that could be just because it's associated with country music. As I really, really don't like that stuff. But, I'm always pretty damn respectful of someone that can actually play an instrument, even if it's something that I personally wouldn't use in a musical situation.
