which basses did you buy with the Big Al/Reflex money? Seems like you regret selling your Big Al(s)?!
I have 6 (or 7?) basses in total, but my Big Al and Sterling ´94 will never be for sale, even major GAS won´t change my mind. I even want another Big Al as backup.
I bought a super scarce Bongo in true gold with the solid rosewood BFR neck.

Knew I could find another Big Al one of these days.
I really liked the two I have owned and know I will own another at some point sooner than later.

I've owned around 15 Musicman basses - pre-EB Stingrays, EBMM Stingrays with single pickups and two pickups, Bongos in HH and HS configuration, and a Big Al. I've pretty much loved almost every Musicman bass I've ever owned, and at one point I think I owned 5 or 6 concurrently. However, when I bought my Big Al I reduced the Musicman herd to just the Big Al and the best Stingray ever made - the mahogany bodied 30th Anniversaty Stingray.
As awesome as Bongos and dual pickup Stingrays play and sound, the Big Al SSS is the complete package. And, as a Thunderbird lover, I dig the look a lot.

yea I HAD a 30th mahogany H4 ray.
Just did not like it as much as my other HH and HS rays.
Had a killer classic 2 band too, let that go.
If I kept every EBMM bass I owned in the past 3 years I would have an amazing collection.
Sadly I cannot just keep them all.
So I get satisfaction in knowing others are loving them at least...

I think that is partially why I let go of my white one.
I let go of the Cabernet pearl one that had the rosewood board, mainly cause I LOVE matching headstocks and the white one had that.
I think the answer is to just break down and order a brand new Big Al sometime when EBMM finally offers colors again that I like.
I really like the true gold, desert gold and olive gold.
Sucks they do not offer those anymore
The single H EBMM basses are all cool, but to me what makes the Big AL special are the three quasi single coil pickups.

I doubt this will ever happen, but I really hope that EBMM offer the Big Al 5 with an HSS configuration especially with the Roasted Maple neck.

Hey guys! Count me in...just got Mrfstop's white Big Al! And its a beast!
So far my favorite setting is all buttons up. And the middle soloed is a close second. Lots of tones coming of this thing. I would describe it as having underlying Fender tones with an EBMM twist on it. You can hear the stingray/sterling qualities in it especially with the rear and middle pickups on.
Anyway, can't wait to get off work and play it!
