NICE!

jbybj, your bass is stunning. Those BFRs are insanely nice. You must be ecstatic.

Honestly I'm frustrated. My home has been having work done for the last month, and I don't have an amp out and playable. I've been able to play it plugged in for about half an hour at a local used shop, and at work, for about an hour. So I have been getting very familiar with how it sounds unplugged.

I am most anxious to hear it in a group setting, but that may be a few weeks off, with the holidays and all.

But yes, I had been gassing for one since I first became aware of them last year, and I'm very happy that this is my first Music Man.

Ok. I am going to give in :) here is My SR5 in flat black. It's not a stealth exactly since it came out before the stealth lines, and has a non-painted neck. It was actually a custom build for a guy in some pretty big band I don't care to mention :) It MAY be the only one like it, but who knows. Either way it's definitely one of my all time favorites. I guess give me a number!

Here's my '09 Stingray Deluxe Classic Series (pics posted previously):

That IS a smokin' looking bass!

Interestingly enough my '95 Stingray has the transition bridge with just dome head screws instead of the mutes. I've been trying to chase down the mute plate and thumbscrews for some time but have had no luck.:hmm: But if EB is producing basses with the early bridge I am hoping that they will be making the mute setup available to retro-fit my bass.

is anyone actually keeping track of numbers?

I just realized that I originally posted on page 2, post #23 (still back when I thought mine was a '96, but then EB ran the s/n and said it's a '94)....but i didn't PM the OP so I never got a number....odd

As mentioned in a previous post in another thread, I ordered a new Stingray 5, but it was defected upon delivery. When I informed Musicians Friend, the company sent me a replace Stingray 5 via overnight delivery for free to ensure that I would receive it before the Christmas day. The replacement bass arrived today.

New pictures are posted below:

Actually, the replacement Stingray 5 sounds so much better than the previous Stingray 5 I had received (duh, it was defected). I am very excited to be able to play the new bass during my holiday season vacation from work.

Sign me up for the club!!! :bassist:
