Check the RT1 NTC thermistor for signs of damage. It’s a protection device for surges. If it is damaged, the correct part would be needed. It isn’t indicated on the diagram.

Was your Halotron extinguisher within reach when this happened? Clean agent units are a little expensive, but so is the stuff in your studio. If you don't have one, it might be a prudent investment.

A definite oversight when it comes to studio furnishings. Just ordered a clean agent model.
The entire circuit is sealed with no visible screws. I’m likely going to need to unmount it from the wall to address the problem.
I'm convinced it's just the controller circuit and not the entire HRV unit. Last night I plugged it in again and it did the "briefly spool up the fans before coming to rest" thing that it always did. When I moved the speed switch up from 0 to 1 it did nothing (no beep, no fan movement, etc.). That should make for an easier fix.
They were supposed to arrive yesterday, but FedEx screwed something up and they’re currently in Troutdale Oregon and the estimated delivery date is now blanked out. Not sure what’s going on, but I’m sure they’ll arrive soon enough.

Lots of my FedEx deliveries get bounced between Troutdale and Kent WA., for whatever reason. Frustrating, because Troutdale is only like 40 minutes from here.
And fittingly enough, I work in Kent WA

There’s been so many shots with my wife’s business sign in it that I assumed anybody who wanted to find me easily could.
It was definitely chilly. Our landscaper showed up and I opted to move a small pile of dirt so he could focus on getting plants in the ground. Had I planned on doing this today I would have dressed more appropriately.Look at you doing yard work in December.

Fortunately my portion of the work only took about 15 minutes.
My interfaces arrived this morning. They were scheduled for Thursday, then rescheduled for Monday and arrived on Saturday. 
The replacements behave worse than the originals, and are exhibiting different behavior including a 10-20s audio dropout every time I change the playback source (i.e. if I go from Logic to Spotify to Quicktime it's silent for 10-20s each time). I wrote a lengthy email to Apogee requesting a full refund for both sets of interfaces and the hardware remote. I have zero confidence in these interfaces anymore and I'll be moving on. I've got a return authorization for the replacement set already, and hopefully they don't fight me too much on returning the originals despite having purchased them 13 months ago. Since I've had zero weeks of properly functioning units I think my request is justified. Hopefully they come to the same conclusion.

It’s a 2018 Mac Mini. It operates flawlessly with all other interfaces I’ve tried, and it behaves differently with two sets of seemingly identical Apogee Element 88s. If it were the computer I would at least see similar behavior with the two sets of Apogee interfaces, but that’s not the case.
That’s wild and incredibly frustrating. What’s the next choice, a set of Focusrite interfaces?
