I'll see if I can convert it. The original was over 250MB so I changed it to an MPEG-2 file (Mac's can't do that?? Wow, a media format winblows media player can handle that a mac can't? Say it isn't so!). This reduced it to 72MB or so.

Anyway, if you can give me a spec, I can try to re-export it to a more universally friendly format. :)

Well, I could play that format if I had the VLC player, and it doesn't want to download right at the moment. If you can convert it to say a .mov, that will work on both with QuickTime. AVI is also a QuickTime file format, which means it will work on both. I have a Windows machine that I watched to movie on, so it's no big deal.

.mpg is about as Mac-friendly a format as you can get (certainly moreso than .wmv or .avi by any means). It played just fine in Quicktime for me, although if you're having any trouble with it, try it with VLC (which plays just about anything you throw at it).

EDIT: Ahh, I see it's MPEG-2, I have a codec for that. Still played fine though, and I would still say it's more Mac-friendly than .wmv or .avi (and .mov would be Windows-unfriendly for anyone without QuickTime for Windows, so I wouldn't expect him to make it available in that format).

It can, although the Apple QuickTime MPEG2 playback codec costs $20 (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/mpeg2/). Free software like VLC handles it just fine though. A format like DivX, Xvid, h.264, MPEG4, etc. would probably be the easiest for the most people though.

Weird tho, doesnt look like there's room for the truss rod adjustment. and it looks passive with a vol/vol/tone setup. I want one with the new active EQ. I wonder if there's a separate coil selector for each pickup.....

I feel like cartman waiting for the Wii.

If you'll forgive me some narratives... :)

Carvin never intends to sell anything like this, it's just made to demo their finishes, but it was actually quite playable, and sounded fine. Yeah, that's THREE different fingerboard segments!

Don't shoot me for sayin' so, but I really didn't dig this rig much at all. Just seemed to be kinda' dull sounding, and in typical Demeter fashion, the EQ is very subtle, so it was really hard to dial in something rich enough for my tastes.

WOW! This has to be the hottest Cirrus I've ever seen. I really dig the spalted maple top (alder body), and the dotted ebony board. Classic and modern at the same time and the finish was beautiful.

The significance of this pic is that this guy is a regular left-handed bass player, but has developed the "upside-down" technique simply because it's so hard to find left-handed basses to check out, he had to learn this just to evaluate basses. He was actually pretty good at it, too!

Believe it or not, one Gibson got "right". Mike even commented it was one of the best he's ever played of theirs. Mike also told us a super funny story about how he accidentally intimidated the dude at Gibson by saying his autograph was gonna' cost money on a visit not too long ago (but was just joking of course).
