I was the same way, but based on how it sounds. Its worth it to me.I took a long look at these but kept away b/c I'm a wussbag about carrying cabs now.
Still, these look like a solid buy for the price and I'm glad you like it!

Nice buy. I’ve been debating trying some of their cabs with the neo speakers. Just wish that had some different models like a 215 or vertical 212 maybe. One of our guitar players has two of the avatar 212 cabs and they are built very well imo.Well I took a chance and bought an Avatar SB126 4-ohm cab. Mine has the standard Eminence Delta 12LF speaker. I played 3 gigs with it this weekend and it sounded great with my Markbass Little Marcus 250 and TC Electronic BH250. I can hear myself perfectly in gig situations. The 6 inch mid really lets me hear the high notes on my P Bass. I also debadged the cab as well. I think it looks great. The only downside is that it is heavy for a 1x12 cab (about 45 lbs). Other than that I think Avatar has a real winner here and for $438 shipped to my door I believe that it is a real bargain.

Yeah that thinking seems a little old to me now. I have two 8 ohms cabs and my Mesa amp will run at 2 ohms. So my next cab(s) will likely be 4ohms not 8. Amps that could handle 2ohms were rare for a while. I even had some funky ones like the swr 750 which could run a 2.6 or whatever with a 4 ohm and 8 ohm cab together. But the Mesa can handle 2 ohms.He still has room for expansion, as you yourself said, with a power amp, if he so chooses. Or, he can do what I did, and get a Shuttlemax 12.2, an excellent bass head, imho. The world of bass amps is changing; Genzler, Mesa Boogie, etc. is now designing heads that go to 2 ohms, if needed. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like every time someone pops up with a 4 ohm cab purchase, you are there telling them they " should have followed advice ". I believe this is the second thread recently where you have " tsk tsk'd " 4 ohm cabs.
Great purchase! I bought the same cabinet a few years ago and love the sound I get from it. It also seems to hold up well on the road. This is the second Avatar cabinet that I've owned and have found them to be a great value. Enjoy!Let me know what you think!
Thanks! I will.Nice cab, I like Avatar's product. I'm not a fan of tweeters, the Mid driver is a great idea.
Have fun with it !
Agreed. They used to have more models and color options, but I guess Dave decided to make things simpler. Not really a bad thing I guess.Nice buy. For years I have always looked at Avatar Cabs, but never would pull the trigger due to the reasons you mentioned. I'm glad I made this purchase. The quality of this cab IMO is on par with its much higher priced counterparts. I had an 8 ohm Mesa/Boogie Traditional Powerhouse that was around $650, and this sounds way better and is constructed about the same. I'm so happy I took the leap!Looks nice. Back when I was cab shopping a few years ago a pair of these Deltalite Neos were on my short list. I wasn't sure if they would be loud enough for the band I was in so I got a 610 instead. These have always looked nice to me though and maybe one day I'll go to a 123/126 combo. Keep us posted on the longevity of this thing. When I was shopping I didn't find too many reviews or threads on these, which led me to go with something more reviewed and something I was able to try in person.
I think you will love it. Yeah I'm glad they stopped using carpet. I would duratex the cab if I were you. Have you had a chance to try it out?I recently snagged a used SB126. It literally just arrived maybe an hour ago and is sitting behind me at work. Haven't even had a chance to open up the cab, inspect, plug it in or anything. It's also a 4-ohm cab, just like yours. I would have preferred 8-ohm for better expansion potential but for $260 shipped I thought it was too good of a steal to pass up, especially considering it has the Kappalite (or so the ad said - I haven't verified this).
Mine's wrapped in carpet that's still in good shape but I plan on removing it and either refinish in Duratex or go with a wood finish.
Kind of thinking of one of these to put under my SWR super redhead. You said you play outside with PA support? I do the same but like most of my sound from the stage. How's the output for a smaller cab?Let me know what you think!
It gets really loud for its size. Enough to be heard on it's own on stage with monitors. I can make it overbearing if I want to.Kind of thinking of one of these to put under my SWR super redhead. Kind of depends on what the cab looks like once the carpet is removed (if I even decide to remove it). If it's worthy of a natural wood finish then I might sand it smooth and give it a nice clear coat. Otherwise, I'm thinking Duratex on the exterior and either painting the baffle or natural finish. I'll start my own "New Cab Day" thread at some point with photos and updates.I think you will love it. Yeah I'm glad they stopped using carpet. I would duratex the cab if I were you. Hey, how long did it take for you to get your cab after ordering?Let me know what you think!
