New Darkglass Compressor: The Hyper Luminal Hybrid Compressor

I just got my HL yesterday. After going thru the whole thread I noticed that I was over compressing, that is why I was not happy with it :D But I did noticed that Time should be quite high on FET and BUS, at around 3:00 because it you lower it, it takes too much of the initial attack away.

I'm using HL in front of B7K ultra V2 with quite heavy distorsion setting. Do you have any special suggestions for settings in these kind of setting? I'm using compressor mostly to even out the volume differences between B string and other strings.

Thanks!

Question or some I ordered a new Black verios of this compressor last week and got it in. The next day I decided to do the Suite to look at setting and change the HPF like some suggested. Problem was it wouldn't let any sound through after that. I even reset to factory defaults and still no sound. It would light up but nothing. Sweetwater sent me replacement and I got it Monday. I want to try this again and set the HPF to 120 but afraid maybe I did something wrong. After to save the changes in the suite is there any other options to do to make sure it saves and works lol?

No.

I'm art of the Club now. Really liking this pedal so far.

I was looking for an answer to this, but couldn’t find it. Does each light on the gain reduction meter represent a certain number of dB? I was curious if it was similar to the gain reduction dB numbers on the Empress. Both compressors have 10 lights on the gain reduction meter.
Second part to the question: How often, and how much, are you guys setting the gain reduction meter on the HL to light up during your normal playing?

Can't answer the first part, but for the second question - I typically set it for half way (5 lights) at any given ratio). I don't know why. It just feels right to me but I know that seems completely psychosomatic

Wasn't even aware there was software for this pedal. Let alone the ability to adjust a side chain HPF. Thanks to this forum, now I know. Wish DG would have properly documented this in the manual. Oh well. I just downloaded the "suite" and adjusted the HPF to 110. All squared away now. Thanks TB!
