Double Bass New EA VL208?

I wanted one so bad, I paid 1000.00 on ebay for one. Well worth it.
I bridge it with a 1000 watts, and it sounds perfect.

Well Folks,
Jessie Mains was kind enough to sell me his VL 208. It's in pristine condition
and sounds wonderful. These speakers have something special in the way they reproduce Double Bass. I feel very privileged to finally have one.

Hey Ric,

Glad you're enjoying man! I don't play enough DB (or in tune enough:p ) to justify keeping such a sweet DB cab (although it stacked just nicely with my VL110 - which I still have; great cab too).

There is something about the VL208 that makes it the absolute best for DB. Glad it went to a good home!

Wow. I'm curious as to the difference between the side port and the front port. Is this still "transmission line"? How does it compare to the real thing?
Looks like a cross between a VL 208, an NL 210 and an M line Wizzy.

Bingo! It appears to share the same exterior dimensions as the M-line Wizzy. It is indeed a transmission line design, but it is an M-shaped line, like the NM-410 and M-line Wizzy.

I have only just started playing with it (and I have not A/B'd it to a VL-208 yet), but I can say that at first listen, it certainly does remind me of a louder, deeper VL-208. :bassist: The response seems exceptionally smooth and even. But again, this is at first blush, to take that FWIW.
