New Origin Effects DCX Bass

I know, right? Plus, with Empress having that One-Two Punch with their Bass Compressor & ParaEQ MKII, it would be great to see Origin have a similar combo, but with their own flavour.
Did you ever checkout the OE M-EQ (Pultec) on Bass?

The mid frequency selection is 800Hz - 1KHz - 1.3KHz

I have not but as a MID EQ (or upper mid EQ) drive box it must have some degree of utility?

I always assumed that was more tuned to a guitar, but I would be curious if anyone has tried it on bass?
I'm sure it was designed with the larger market in mind. But it would be interesting to put next to a DCX Bass.

I expect that there are those who could get a Bass friendly drive sound out of it. I've heard some say the Halcyon was a better choice for a drive on Bass from OE. However, that was before the release of the DCX Bass.

It’s mid boost only, and it drops the low end also as you boost the mids (tested with a frequency analyser to make sure). It’s sounds good with zero or minimal mid boost, but it’s kinda wasted then.

I’m using my Halcyon and DCX Bass together, I still think the Halcyon is worth it. A second DCX is sure tempting though.

I’m considering one of these for my end of chain into either my Katana Bass power amp in, or into a DI for IE’s. Do any of you run this way, and if so, do you miss the cab sim for IE’s?
My chain would be Zoom MS70 (effect’s only) > Empress Comp MkI > DCX > DI (or Katana).

nah dude, just ran it that way Sunday and it was great!

You’re not helping my GAS!

some people here run 2... if I really wanted to kick on a drive instead of just having some on demand when digging in, I'd buy a 2nd one. and I might... maybe.

I played with a BDDI v2 for years, so I understand loving the cab sim thing especially in IEMs. It always worked well in multiple environments, as many of you know. I also would not hesitate to use it again. ever.

switching to the DCX bass and khan is still new to me and im still in the honeymoon phase, but I love it. Mostly because there's less knobs and more simplicity. I don't like to fiddle. I prefer to set and forget.
