During the post game interview reporters were asking him about some of the game decisions. These are exactly his words.....'This is who we are. This is what we do'.
To be noted, that now includes being the first team ever in NFL history to have a winning record and lose two games to two different teams eight games under 500 in the same season.

Dang! Falcons say hold my beer. Never mind. Just looked and the Cards were 1-8 when we decided to let them win. Next year.

Clarification to my earlier comment. Scroll ahead to 4:21 in this clip. Tomlin is asked what gives him confidence the team will be back. Then comes the 'this is who we are' quote.
Listen to the whole thing if you want to listen to a man out of touch with the reality of the NFL in 2023. It starts at 1:44-ish when Tomlin let's everyone know they lost because they got outscored on the turnover margin then gets increasingly head scratching when he tells everyone Trubisky got better as the game went on.

A buddy who will consistently defends Tomlin and the Steelers reminded me of a fateful decision the Steelers made years ago. The Steelers had a chance to draft Jalen Hurts in 2020. They took Chase Claypool instead and Hurts went to the Eagles four picks later. This is the year after Roethlisberger had the elbow surgery that took him out all year.
The Steelers likely hung on to sentimentality with Ben and missed a golden opportunity to prepare the franchise for life without their hall of fame QB.

Surprised NE won tbh based on how they have sucked post Brady and this year in particular. I only watched a few minutes of the game and saw the 4th and 2 bomb at the end. Not sure what the thinking was for that throw.

At least Tomlin found a way to get the ‘23 Steelers into the record book. That should warrant a lifetime contract extension, no?

I'm pretty sure that under Tomlin/Canada, he would not be the Jalen Hurts we see now.

If the Steelers give up on KP and deal to draft a top QB this year, it will be more of the same. The culture of this team sucks.

Totally agree.
While my buddy was trying to make a point to defend Tomlin, to me it only served to prove just how lost he really is and it goes on above him too.

I sure hope the Steelers keep Tomlin. Because if they fire him, you know he's going to be the Browns' next head coach. The Browns always manage to out dumb pretty much everyone else.

I think Tomlin would make a fine assistant coach. Players are loyal to him, and he's quite good with the one liners. Problem is, I don't know what position. :D
Can a team hire a 'talk to the media after the game even after you have the two most embarrassing losses in NFL history' coach guy?
Another thing he has going for him is he is in control during interviews. He stays calm and collected while typically taking the high road, which was on display in his response to the reporter asking him about the questionable false start on the punt late in the fourth. That was classic Tomlin.

Probably only because you're not old enough to remember the 1960s and early '70s. (Not sure how old you are, so maybe you DO remember those days!) They sucked then as well.

I'm tired of the same old "Tomlin-isms" after they embarrass themselves. A change would be fine with me. But with the "younger" Rooneys, it's just not the same either. They might be part of the problem, but there's not much you can do about that.

That won't be a problem. I can't see the Steelers winning another game this season. Even with Browning, the Bengals are a better team than the Steelers.
By the way, Browning is a better QB than Pickett will ever be.
