They moved the event to Tuesday night. Even the NFL doesn't care about it. I used to go every year in Honolulu. The game was fun, and in a beautiful part of the world, which made it a nice break from the PNW winter. Events around town leading up to the game were fun too, and usually involved getting a chance to meet and interact with the players. The cool part was it was the week after the Super Bowl, so everyone was chill, players from the Super Bowl teams played in the game, and enjoying the last NFL event of the year.
We'd usually go early and watch the Super Bowl over there at a luau or some other cool event.

Why do a football game at all? Name the AFC and NFC all star teams and have them compete in a decathlon of things like a three-legged race, tug-o-war and arm wrestling. Highest scoring team "wins".

All the Patriot fanbois up here keep going on about how it doesn't matter they played a weak schedule since they're in the Super Bowl, but yes it does matter.
I'm not suggesting the Seahawks offense is packed with all stars, but they have a few legit weapons and everyone on that team blocks. The Seahawks defense can get after you too. I didn't watch all 16 Patriot games this year, but I'm fairly comfortable saying this Seattle team will be the best one they've seen all year.
I like Drake Maye, maybe he can pull it off.

I agree with you. KW3 is a WEAPON. I love the way he runs. Witherspoon and E.Jones are two of my favorite young players.

Thinking of how Vrabes likes to do things, I think they are going to run hard and often to stack the box and give Maye opportunities to create or take off. The defensive front is nasty, but getting a hat on a hat and seeing what goes down seems likely. Boote and Diggs might be enough to dink and dunk, but I'm betting Henry is the leading receiver for them.

Seattle NEEDS Darnold to not turn the ball over. He was a turn over machine until the playoffs.

Those in the know call him K9.

Of course. But it's been moved to Tuesday because nobody watches it. How much revenue is there anymore?
When regular TV shows start getting moved to less popular time slots it's not long before they get cancelled.
Well, the TV revenue is probably secondary to all the other advertising they can do. For starters......
The Burger King Ace Hardware kickoff brought to you by The Home Depot, then the Allstate Buffalo Wild Wings Krylon Halftime Show sponsored by Rocket Mortgage. Then we have the Netflix Pizza Hut Airbnb second half presented by Anker.
They'll be prop bets for everything, including how many times Gronk slobbers while talking.
Yeah, this won't pull the numbers of the Super Bowl, but they'll get enough influencers watching and as long as they drop a few names in the music and film industry, they'll at least get the attention of all the kids long enough to convince them to buy something from the Apple Store or drop $50 on who will catch the next pass.

Vrable will come up with some things, but McDonald is not exactly a slouch when given a little time to prepare, either. He's also been fantastic at halftime adjustments. I'm not holding my breath, but I'm pretty optimistic that the Seahawks will win. The defense is suffocating to anybody who isn't the Rams.

Darnold has stepped it up in the playoffs, big time--which is not at all what I expected. Maye, on the other hand, has taken a step back vs. the regular season. He's 9th (of 14) in playoff QBR, and 7th in passer rating. If not for Denver's returner coughing up a punt deep in his own territory, I'm not sure the Pats' offense would have generated more than a field goal. The Pats also scored only 16 vs. the Chargers. They got 28 vs. the Texans, but that's because Stroud turned it over a million times.

Not to underestimate the Pats' D, but Seattle being a 4.5-point favorite makes sense.

I don't disagree, but the salient point, which the Stroud game emphasizes, Darnald needs to play above his seasonal norm. The Pats aren't the kind of team to shoot themselves in the foot.

Also, "only" 16 :) It was also "only enough" :D I'm pokin fun at'cha but ya know, if the other team "only" scores 14, it's a win.

The best thing, maybe the greatest thing, about the NFL, is it's really is 1 game at a time. It doesn't matter what schedule, it doesn't matter what record got you there, what matters is that one game.

It's what makes it compelling.

I don't know how healthy the Pats are now. The Niners were an emergency ward, and it showed. The Rams are the Seahawks' kryptonite so it just doesn’t matter. I know next to nothing about the Pats.

Rumors about Maye’s throwing shoulder? …but nobody’s sayin much. He just says it’s sore, from throwing 4 days/wk.

Maybe blowing smoke, maybe not. For now, I'm not entirely convinced that there isn't some gamesmanship going on to throw off the other side just a little. You know that both Maye and Darnold will be playing and probably playing well. You would have to rip one of their arms off, like happened to Brock Purdy a couple years ago. I hope that doesn't get repeated.

The past few years has brought me to the conclusion that the football hof is on par with the baseball hof and they're both a complete mess at this point. Baseball hof maybe even more so still. Shoulda, coulda, woulda votes that just makes the sports writers that had a vote look like cranky bitter children or completely clueless of the ON FIELD career accomplishments. I've never been a Belichick/Brady/Pats fan, but I would have bet every cent he'd have gotten an almost unanimous 1st ballot enshirement. Sports is completely upside down bonkers these days and I guess I just don't get it.
