Only $15 million of the Alexander deal is guaranteed. Details are still coming on the deal, but my sources tell me it is rather unique, and heavily in the Seahawks favor how it was written up.

I just saw today that the Raiders waived Kerry Collins. IMO it's not the only thing they need to do, but it's a step in the right direction.

Now if they could just seal Al Davis in a plexiglass chamber for about 5 years and get a real GM..............:eek: :D ;)

You've got me beat either way - I just watch ESPN. Anyway, I don't doubt that the deal is well written up from the standpoint of the organization, since Tim Ruskell has always seemed like a pretty savvy guy. Just look at the team in Tampa he put together...the guys he brought in are still the core of the team after all these years.

Mike, that was GREAT news. I must admit, I have never been a Maddox fan, and it bugs me he earned a ring even though he did his best to screw the team this year! I was pretty impressed with Batch (based on the few snaps he took) and am glad he remains.

Kinda like O'Donnell did in the Steelers/Cowboys superbowl! I think he was the Cowboy's MVP that game!!!!

While I don't think as highly of Culpepper as I once did (maybe thanks to Gard?), a change of scenery might do him good - and to reunite with the game's best receiver (when healthy) doesn't hurt. The Raiders still have no D, though, and they're in a division where they're just going to get run over every week unless they fix that.

I'm psyched about the new CBA though. Wonderful news.

A running back relies on the O line. With no O line to rely on, watch Edge's numbers plummet. Of course exceptions exist, but by and large, the better the line, the better the running back can be. Barry Saunders was exceptional even while surrounded by less-than-stellar players.

I hope Indy plays Arizona and destroys them.

What in the thunder is Edge thinking? He just signed a death wish with that Arizona deal. So sad, he was an excellent back.

Daniel Snyder is a moron. Randle El was an average WR. Yeah, he can throw and pull off the trick plays, but you can only do that once or maybe twice a game. What an idiot Snyder is. The money he gave Randle El is crazy. With that said, I am sad to see Randle El go. He fit in so well with the Steelers, added another dimension to the offense, and provided some good memories. Thanks Antwaan, the Steelers will have your replacement ready to go by September. :D

Totally agreed!

I DO hope a replacement is good to go come the season. I think regardless of who the team is, it's sad to see a championship team fragment, even if only a little.

I never really understood it. Is greed THAT big of a factor? I mean, if someone is already making millions, why leave a formula that obviously works so well. Is another few million worth more to Antwaan than another Superbowl ring? I can't see how it could be. BUT, in any given week, I'm barely a hundredaire, let alone a millionaire, so what do I know!!!! :D

I know what you mean. I think for a lot of these guys it is also about ego. They want to be a bigger part of the team, the go-to-guy, or the #1 starter. A real good RB doesn't want to play in a pass first offense, and a real good WR doesn't want to play in a run first offense.

Randle El's case is totally confusing though. He won't be the #1 in Washington, and he'll be a part of a lot of three WR sets. It isn't like he is going to shine as a star. I believe the Steeler offense is going to change this offseason, and it won't be as run heavy as it has been. With Jerome gone, and Ben showing that he has the ability to pass, I think Pittsburgh will look more like Indy next year. Not nearly as high powered of a WR core, but more like that offense. I think for Randle El, it was all about the money.

Good points. All of 'em. What's up with Deuce this year? It was frustrating to seem him just hanging out on the sidelines out of uniform. Is he planning on returning? I think he can fill in Bettis' 3rd down and goal-line role very well.

I'm a Colts fan, but I'll bite.

Alstott gave someone the meanest stiff-arm I've ever seen last year in their playoff game. It was absolutely brutal. A regular stiff-arm pushes a defender away to stay untouched; Alstott gave on that knocked the defender down and proceeded to crush said defender into the ground. It was a thing of beauty in a "Jacked Up" sort of way.

I've always liked the Bucs. I even have an old orange and white Buc's cap. I like the way they play defense. I really like Alstott. It will be a sad day for me when he retires.

You think Cadillac will come out on fire again this year?
