NHL 2008

Crosby got into the Penguins scoring act by chipping in a hat trick to beat the Devils last night. Fedotenko and Staal have been real quiet lately, but they're making plays that don't count in the box score. Satan and Sykora are providing legit offensive threats, which is nice. The defense is chugging along, while Whitney is getting close to be being back in the lineup.

I still think we are looking good. I haven't been able to focus enough on hockey yet to see who I should be worried about in the East. I already know who to watch for in the West.

Nice to see NJ idle as the Flyers are behind them and are starting to idle as well. OT loss on Friday and a regulation loss on Saturday We get Briere back and we might see some jump in the offense. We need to bounce back against TB who are desperate for wins.

Boston at the moment.

Yes, I think Briere will be a welcome punch to your offense. Losing a guy to injury is never good news, but I like how it strengthens the team when they come back. Kind of like a midseason trade, but we don't have to give anyone up. :)

Duly noted on the Bruins. I'll add them to the list of teams I keep an eye on. Right with Detroit, Vancouver, Pitt, Rangers, Flyers, and Sharks. Thanks.

Center Ice guys; do you get the games broadcast on NHLTV? I don't get any of the regular content on that channel and they aren't broadcasting the Toronto Philly game on the regular channels. This happened last season too when all but two teams were playing on one night (second game of the season for the Flyers). I don't want to miss this game will be a little upset if they don't broadcast it. Why am I paying for this if they are skipping games and they only seem to do it to the Flyers. Commencing Phone Call Now.

Center Ice did NOT include the NHL Network games last year, though on Time Warner this year they are including the NHL network as well (though I was already getting it due to 6 Wings games being on NHL network last year and I missed them. It's only $2/month for the tier it's in.

His comments were about Phaneuf being with his ex-girlfriend.... from what I've heard...

He got suspended indefinitly , good things for the Stars , it's probably gonna help them.

I try not to b**** about the refs....If we are watching the game on versus.....weak call on Upshall. This is hockey not a tickling contest refs. Not worthy of a major, nor a game misconduct. Flyers start 2nd period with a little over 2 minutes on the major....shorthanded goal time.

I just saw that Avery was suspended by the league indefinitely for asinine comments. I have yet to research it but will see what that is all about during the first intermission during the Flyers/Bolts game on VS.

I just saw the quote on TSN.

"There seems to be a thing around the league with guys falling in love with my sloppy-seconds."

All I can say it...I miss Brendan Morrow...

Any Dallas fans here?

What do you guys think of Sean Avery ?

Biggest d-bag to play the game this side of Clod LePew. His comments were way out of line. The league did right to suspend him indefinitely, though part of me would LOVE to have seen Dion Phaneuf (who's currently dating Elisha Cuthbert, the "sloppy seconds" Avery referred to) absolutely LEVEL Avery. Still, it's probably best that he didn't get the chance since Avery would likely have tried to press charges.

As much as I despise cheap shots in the game, I despise people who disgrace the game with their actions on and off the ice just as much. Avery fits in that category.

OK..... First things first, Avery is a douche. NOBODY in the Stars room can stand him. I think he is a huge part of the problems facing the Stars this year. I consider him Brett Hull's first major mistake as Co-GM. If he nevers skates with them again that's fine with me....BUT!!!

What did he really do here? Did he seriously injure a player with a cheap shot? Did he call out the officials over bad calls after a game? Did he question the integrity of the league office? Did he accuse Bettman of shady dealings with the Mob? Nope.....

This isn't a case of someone shouting "fire" in a crowded theater. This is a free speech issue. The NHL doesn't have the right to muzzle its players regarding non-game related subjects. Was it rude and mean? Of course. The guy is a miserable human being. But that's not something you get to suspend people for.

I fully expect Avery to "lawyer up" and sue the Stars and the NHL. He'll win, too.
