Flyers win again tonight. They already passed us up in the Atlantic. Now they are only two points behind the Rangers. They've won seven or eight of the last 10. Impressive right now for sure.

The Avs beat the Flyers in Oct. 5-2. It was the worst game of the season yet for the Flyers. Tonight they owned the Avs. A completely different Flyers team this time of the year.
Niitty looked awesome in goal tonight; hopefully Biron's flu hangs around for a while

. I'm not going to say there is a goalie controversy but as much as I love Biron, he best watch his back or he will be in the same spot he was in Buffalo, backing up Hasek and the Miller.
Couple stats to note. Carter nets his 22nd on the year and his 3rd shorthanded goal giving the Flyers 12 (SH) on the year; far overshadowing the 2nd place Isles who have 7 if the stats are accurate.
Speaking of special teams, Flyers were 2 for 5 on the PP. They are actually over 40% in the month of December which is impressive.
Richards is on his 2nd 8 game scoring streak of the season with 15 points during that time; Gagne continues to put up points as well.
Knuble gets his 100th goal as a Flyer. They need to keep that vet around till he retires.
The Flyers have 6 players with 10 or more goals (another fine example of scoring balance).
John Stevens has brought his win percentage over .500 which is something I like to see. The Philly faithful have given Stevens a hard time and he is usually to blame when the team isn't doing well. With this current hot streak the nay-saying has subsided. I think John Stevens is a heck of a coach. He is the most collected bench boss I've ever seen and a student of the game for sure.
FYI: I did do some research for my stats. There's no way I can remember all those gory details.
The Rags better watch their backs but it is an injury depleted Habs team we face next; at the always electric Bell Centre. The good thing about not having Briere in the lineup is I don't have to hear Montreal fans booing him. Hopefully the Habs keep their elbows down this time.
