Yes, I think so. I also think they'll end up buying out Briere's contract. It'll cost them, but it'll also clear a lot of cap space.

I also agree with whomever said earlier that if Bryzgalov DOES end up with another team, he'll play much better. Philadelphia chews up and spits out their goalies. The expectations are high; but if they play well, the fans will love them. But it's probably the most stressful place in the entire NHL to play goal. Remember, this is the same city that pelted Santa with snowballs... :D

I remember how stoked the Flyer guys were when Bryzgalov signed that mega deal.....and how stoked they were last season about the young guys....and how Giroux was the next star of the NHL......and how Talbot was the missing piece. OK, I made the last one up. :)

Admittedly, I was hopeful when they signed Bryzgalov, but always felt that Bob was their future. I liked Bob and thought they finally found their long-term goalie, but figured Holmgren knew better than I which way to go. But maybe not. ;)

I think they gave the "C" to Giroux a year or two too soon. I think he's an awesome player, but not a natural leader. At least yet. I think Timonen would have been a better choice at that time, with only one or two years left in him. By that time, Giroux would have been more ready. Giroux is at his best without the "C" on his jersey. Maybe he'll be in a better place mentally next year. And I DID like the Talbot signing. I still really like him as both a player and a locker room guy.

This was just a bad year all around for the Flyers. Everybody seemed to drop off this year (except Voracek). Yes, the defense has been devastated by injuries; but the forwards weren't putting the puck in the net like they did last year either. It'll be interesting to see if they can get it together again next year...

If you're referring to Sergei Kostitsyn, that guy's a chump and a loser.

With 1 year left to his contract, he won't get bought out. The team's likely stuck with him for another season which is too bad because he brings nothing positive to a team.

After that, I'd be surprised if he could find work in the NHL. Or maybe I'm just hoping he won't. lol

I watched some of the Black Hawks - Red Wings last night.

First I loved the main camera angle at the Chicago rink - it is lower than the one at the Garden so the players were a little bigger on the screen and you got a better feel for the flow of the game.

Second - I'm not sure if it was the camera angle or the players or me but the game seemed faster than the typical Bruin game. I suspect it is more the players and those two teams like to go up and down the ice.

Frozen Four Final was a freaking blast. With no pony in the race, I wasn't really sure who to cheer for, but Yale had a Pittsburgh boy (Root) so I was cheering for them. Pretty even game, and 4-0 doesn't really tell the story, but Quinnipiac couldn't capitalize on their chances and Yale played outstanding.

Very impressive play in goal by Malcolm tonight for Yale. I figured Yale had a shot to win, but not 4-0. Tough way for Quinnipiac to go out with all those seniors. Yale came into the tourney on a roll and peaked at just the right time.

That's cool you had a blast buddy. I always do at college games too.

Habs get owned by the Leafs in Price's worst game of the year.

The Leafs got 4 goals on 5 shots in the first!

Price has a lot to prove, considering he hasn't stolen a single game for the team this year. The D rocks which is why they've been winning so much. But Price needs to stand on his head like he did last year. Otherwise, the team's as good as eliminated in the first round.

Final score was 5-1. Leafs' D was solid in keeping their opponents playing peripheral hockey in their zone for the rest of the game.

If you're right, Julien needs to fix that before the playoffs start.

I didn't see any of the Pens game, but from what I read online, the new guys made some key contributions. Another Pens win as the train keeps on rolling.

I'm trying to stay up for this Ducks/Kings game. The first period was a good one.

Reimer played really well too. People bash him all the time, but he has played very solid hockey this year. Season save % of .920 is quite good.
