Best trade the Jackets have ever made. He’ll get us into, but maybe not through the postseason. I love Bob, but he needs to work on confidence against top flight competition.
In fairness to Hextall, I'm thinking Paul Holmgren was responsible for the Bobrovsky fiasco.
Ouch. But yeah, that's what's so baffling about it. The Flyers have been struggling to find a franchise goalie ever since the days of Bernie Parent. (Okay, Hextall was pretty good.) So they finally find one in Bobrovsky, and they let him get away.
Vancouver ran right through Pennsylvania, easily beating the Flyers and Pens by the same score....5-2.
For the Pens, that's a season sweep by the Canucks.
On the Pens radio broadcast, Bourque made a comment how the Canucks aren't doing anything flashy, just playing hard and making hockey plays.
Embarrassing.

If our (Lightning) goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy keeps playing well and allow an average of 2-3 goals a game with our speed and offensive fire power we should win our division BUT we have three weaknesses- We (the Lightning) loses too many face off's, and (2) need to crash the boards more and (3) too many passes-shoot more and stop trying to be cute. I guess a lot teams would love to be in our position because we are winning with our style of play but there's room for improvement if you follow the Lightning.
With no live hockey on last night, the NHL Network had on Quest for the Cup 2017, and I ended up watching the three 30-minute shows chronicling the Pens-Preds Finals. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy...until I woke up this morning and realized the Pens this season are a very average team, and can't seem to put together much of a winning streak at all. Here's hoping Rutherford can find the depth players they need. And that the current stars start playing at the level of which they're capable.
Malkin is out against Boston (The game is starting on NBC in Pittsburgh right now), but is supposed to be back tomorrow night against TBL.

Pens are broken. Probably a mixture of complacency, roster turnover, and the two previous seasons running so long.

To me, it wasn't fun.
Boston was always in control, with the Pens trying to keep up.
The Crosby goal that tied it 3-3 was controversial.

Well, well, well. 'Glove side high' has the night off, so Tristan Jarry and his Pens shut down this years juggernaut team. Crosby and Kessel with a pair each.
