NHL Regular Season 2017-18

Well, looks like Boston has a situation to deal with at goaltender. Rask is the $7 million dollar man, but he's not winning them games. Last night vs. the struggling Oilers resulted in yet another loss where the Bruins should have at least gotten a point. Khudobin is 7-0-2 in regulation starting in net, the B's play better in front of him, and when they don't, he's been able to make the big saves when they need them. I think last night was just another example of Boston not getting the job done with Rask in net. On paper, he should be the better goalie, but the team hasn't won much with him in net. Will be interested to see who starts the next game. I'm betting it's not Rask.

It was a fantastic come from behind win, I watched the last half of the game. And the backup goalie came In and held the fort. That’s the kind of win that builds confidence. And Crosby is back and rolling, a goal and 2 assists this game, including that amazing OT winner. AND with no Malkin.

You need to see the positive side, Flyers are way out of a playoff spot right now, and Pens are now in a wildcard spot and trending upward.

What a rollercoaster of a game. Pens score first and I'm feeling good after one. Next thing you know it's Philly up 3-1. Got so pissed I changed the channel for a while, then decided to check back later to see it was tied up at 3. Within a minute of tuning back in, Flyers go ahead 4-3. But never count out the Penguins. That final few minutes with uninterrupted O-zone pressure paid off with Guentzel's tying goal, and as Jeff K alluded to above, Crosby's winner was freakin' awesome. Great pass by Letang.

That game reminded me of the Pens of the past few seasons...no lead against them was safe, as you just KNEW they were going to come back. Hopefully that confidence is back.

Hearing reports of Rutherford actively trying to trade Ian Cole. What the heck is he thinking? Cole is a defensive stalwart who plays his a$$ off every night, sacrificing his body blocking shots and taking on the opponent's big guns. And his cap hit is only $2.1 million. I'd much rather see Maatta traded away if you have to give up someone on D.

Remember the last time he let a similar shot-blocking team player leave? Fella named Nick Bonino? Still hasn't come close to replacing him.

Yeah, I like Cole a lot and would hate to see him go. His contract is up this year so I guess JR doesnt want to pay him. I just hope he gets a good deal for him. He usually knows what he is doing.

You're right about him knowing what he's doing. But almost every move he's made my first reactions were :eek::mad::rollno:. And almost every one of those moves turned out for the better for the Pens. Shows you how much I know.

Trading Brandon Sutter for Bonino? I thought that deal was terrible. I couldn't have been more wrong. Ditto for many of the other trades he's made. Bortuzzo for Cole, Perron for Hagelin, to name a few. (But I loved the Neal for Hornqvist trade right away!)

Aww man, I like Cole. I'm trying to think who is out there, in a similar salary slot, that is an improvement on Cole.
How about a goalie Rutherford?
