NHL Season 2018-19

Agree completely. That's the funny I was trying to make with my 63 reference. It clearly failed.

Bruins are a great team to be a fan of, but I'm not about to fail to give somebody the business about it. I miss being able to hold my head higher than the rest of the league and poke fun at anybody, but hey, at the end of the day we are all hockey fans and that is solid mark of character in my book.

I heard one of the guys on HNIC I think it was brian burke, explaining that the refs can reduce a penalty upon review right after the call is made, but not increase it, so apparently they do have the discretion to change a call, but only reduce it.

HA, now I get it...lack of sleep lately has made me a bit slow on the uptake. I do remember a few years back, detroit giving the B's fits. I hear they're gonna pick up some stud young D from Sweeden(?) this offseason.

But if he played it right, he would have made the save, right? ;)

I agree it was a total fluke with the ref bounce but he didn't even wait to see if the puck actually came around the other side before moving to grab his stick, especially with zuccarello in his zone on the side he was moving away from. It just looked like something I'd be screaming at my kid for if he let one in that way.

This is the NHL, not Pee Wee league. Keeping ahead of the action is everything and the best goalies anticipate where the puck will be rather than where the puck is now.

If I was coaching a high school goalie and his parent screamed at him for letting in that type of goal, I'd pull the kid aside and tell him he played it right and his dad was being a jerk.

Trust me when I say this. Unless you've strapped on the pads, put the helmet on, and had slapshots ricocheting off your body, you can't have a clue how to play goal.

Been following the sport religiously since 1975. But I've heard more explanations regarding officiating decisions and protocol coming out of the league office in the past couple of weeks than I've ever heard before. In other words, I get the feeling much of it is made up on the spot to serve that day's questionable call. :smug:

Just came in to lol at this.

Refs have been jumping the shark since early April. Longer but we all know the regular season doesn't count.

Also. I very much dislike Brad Marchand and for that reason I want Boston to go away.

That said a SJ/Hubs SC would be neat since Boston fans seem to have negetive things to say about a player the hubs traded like 15 years ago.
