NHL Season 2019-20

He's not as vocal about it normally. That's what surprised me.

I was talking more about ON the ice. But right after I posted that last post, I Googled it to see what he was upset about. What struck me the most is that he appears to have lost a fair amount of weight and looks to be in great shape. That can only bode well for the Pens.

There's a cool article about Malkin I read recently, but it sits behind a paywall at The Athletic website, so I didn't link to it.
I'm drinking the Russian Kool Aid. I think this year for Malkin is going to be different, in a good way.

And here we are again! 2-0 start! Sorry dwn74. It's a long season. I just want to give a shout out to Gone Plaid for keeping me appraised of the doings here. 50th anniversary season for the hometown boys. A playoff spot would be sweet but it will be an uphill climb after last season. Game on!
Yeah, the Sabres took it to both the Pens and Devils! If I remember correctly, last year they started off pretty well, into November before the wheels fell off. I like Kruger and hopefully that playoff spot won't be out of reach as the season progresses.

In other news, the Sharks are 0-3. :)

Well bummer, Mike Sullivan used two phrases today when discussing the Malkin injury that I did not want to hear, 'out indefinitely' and 'longer term'. At least he included 'his season is not in jeopardy'. Phew!
That's Rust, Bjugstad, and now Malkin out longer term.
Where's Darth these days? The Pens host Bufflin and the Donuts tomorrow.

:D:D Poor Murray. I have this mental image of him sitting at his computer doing a search for "MJ5150". The thought bubble over his head is thinking, "Who the #### is this Mike dude?!! The SOB gave me a derogatory nickname, and now I can't shake it!"

Ha.
I'd be happy to let it go just as soon as he figures out how to play the position.

Tuned in at the beginning of the third and saw Jets 4, Pens 1. :rage:

Having two of your top three centers on the injured list really does make a difference. Especially when one of them is named Malkin. Pens actually played well in the third, but it could have been because Winnipeg was content to just sit back and hang onto their 3-goal lead.

Sharks...now 0-4. Thought Kane's return to the lineup would ignite their offense. Not so fast...:D
But they did resign the age-defying Patrick Marleau. Still not a Sharks fan but I've always liked Marleau.

Thought that was going to be in the cards after the deal Leafs made with the 'Canes for salary relief and the subsequent buy-out. First class moves by both T.O. and Carolina to allow a class act like Marleau to go back where he wants to be.

I know it's a few days late but how about 4 goals for Mantha against the stars on sunday! Maybe this is the season he finally moves past the "he's got potential" stage.

Also, I'm loving watching the winless Sharks go from town to town to pick up their latest loss of the season. Hopefully the Blackhawks can keep that train rolling tonight.
