Official 2011-2012 NHL Regular Season Thread; Puck Drop

Yay, the Pens lay an egg for the fifth game in a row. I wonder how far they can fall now......

Tough loss for the Coyotes in MSG. They really played a good game. King Henrik is playing some great goalie right now.

Currently watching the NAS/COL game that is about over, then on to NJ/CAR.

Flyers rookies come through tonight. Score 2 and Bobrovski holds the Canes to 1 goal.

Yeah, Schenn and Coutourier. I thought the team played with a lot more purpose tonight compared to the two Ottawa games. But three games in a row without a point for the Giroux/Jagr/Hartnell line. Bobrovsky looked very sharp tonight. I wonder if Laviolette will put him in against the Isles on Thursday? He sure does look steadier than Bryzgalov...

Hopefully they fall long enough to let the Caps pass 'em...

Tonight's game could either be fun or miserable. Two teams with big injury problems (Pittsburgh admittedly more than Washington) and some kind of underachieving complex. It would be nice to see the Caps win a few and crack back into the playoff picture.

I'm not expecting much from the Pens tonight. Heck, even a callup got hurt last night. Good news on Neal though. He was being called Lazarus on TPB yesterday. Hahaha.

My only hope is Malkin goes into beast mode since he's facing his buddy Ovechkin.

Woo! Caps win a tight one at home against the battered Pens. Chimera got the only goal of the game on a breakaway off a Pens turnover; other than that, both Vokoun and Fleury made some remarkable saves and each had a bit of luck as well. Though the gameplay at times was sloppy (particularly for the Caps), it made for some great watching all the way through, although that's more easily said as a fan of the victor.

Pens have lost six straight now. Caps next play Tampa Bay at home on Friday, and I'll be there! Hopefully we can get another winning streak started with tonight's game and a win on Friday.

Woops.....Orpik made some comments about Crosby I'm sure the Pens preferred stayed in house. I still believe Crosby's career is over.

One Pen in the All-Star game in Malkin, and I think it was deserved.

When your favorite team plays this bad, you can only laugh really. Then you start wondering just how bad can they really be? Lose 10 straight? How about 12? I just hope Shero doesn't blow out Bylsma. It really isn't Dans fault

Now I'm off to watch Boston and Montreal. It's all anyone at work was talking about today. Not a mention of the Patriots.

What is going on up there?

Not only can you not hire a coach who doesn't speak French, your players can't speak the truth about a losing mentality without getting traded in the middle of the game!

Subban is going to get a call from Shanahan and a little involuntary rest I guessing 3 games for an elbow to the head. At least our rat, Marchand, stands up and fights when he crosses the line, Subban turtles. :spit:

Heard about the Montreal possible trade during the Flyers game. Sounds pretty bad in Habland.

Wings win in the SO.

Thanks to Ottawa, Flyers manage to pick up 2 points on the Rangers tonight!

Hartnell 'snubbed' in the All-Star game? Hmm, he's having a career year, but I'm not sure. Of course he's better than the starters selected by the Ottawa fans....

Couturier and Read make it on the rookie team for Philly. Nice to see Read getting recognition, kinda surprised Couturier got there.

Actually I'm surprised Ovechkin made it this year.

Just some ramblings tonight.
