I haven't made a Brit clip yet, but yes, it'll do low, medium and high gain, and the low end is intact.
I should probably make a clip with it side by side with the American, although, if memory serves, the two pedals can be set to sound very similar.

Or maybe a three way showdown, including the UD? I know most people in this thread have the UD, so including that would give a solid idea of the nuances between them. If you do this, I'd like to request a slow riff to try and capture some sustain.

Honestly, your verbal description is probably enough. I know you know what you are talking about. And you are pretty much the musical wordsmith of describing tone.

Thanks for the sample! I love how you can actually see the signal compressing as the drive is turned up.

Anyway, I got the AC Tone and played around with it for a bit, but I don't think it's for me. At least with my setup, it was very difficult to find the middle ground between too trebly/scratchy, and just missing the top end. After rearranging pedal order a bit, it turns out that having my EP booster at the end of my chanin (with the treble boost off) gave me the type of push that I was looking for.

I have say guys, I've had the American for a few months now. I've always dug it. It didn't go on my main board simply because I had more than enough tone shaping and dirt on my board already. So I held onto it anyway cause I did indeed like the pedal and the way it sounded. I decided to try it out again fri night. I was really pushing the drive. And I found that I am really digging what this pedal brings to the table as a straight heavy dirt pedal. I threw it on my board and wow. Going through my B7K, rusty box and then the submarine. This thing kills! I still need to prove it in the live mix but so far, it's wowed me. Now the only issue I'm having now is whether or not I want to use it as a heavy dist or OD as it replaced the DOD 250 reissue.,.....

I was just sleeping on it. Hadn't gotten around to it yet.
But, I'm pretty sure it's gonna bump my UD oof my board for my heavier distortion.
But for light to mid, the VMT stays!
Especially thru the Rusty Box, that thing kills.

Alright folks. Got an UD on the way so it can sit on a shelf in case I ever need it.

Also I Am thinking about trying out another JOyO pedal in place of my VT Bass until I can afford a Rusty Box. Any suggestions? Or should I just wait? Any of these seriously good without the help of blending or boosts? I don't want to have to help the pedal sound good by adding more pedals.

I'd try the American Sound, sounds great, no helper pedals required.

Yes, the American may help you get some of the same type of tones/character the VT does. I actually thought the American was a clone of the VT. But it's not. I guess it's supposed to be like the blondie by tech 21. I think.

Well, it would not be a straight VT bass replacement. It is not designed to give you the SVT sound. But, it could easily replace it and give you the same tone sculpting option but a slightly different sound.

I just got mine this week and I'm still kind of shocked at how good it sounds. I had the behringer sansamp clone and hated it, it just sounded scooped, boomy and artificial to me. For the same price the Joyo sounds ten times better and it's actually in a metal case with a solid footswitch. If you don't end up liking it you can always sell it and break even.

The american is the Tech21 Character series that does the Fender sound, same series as the VT. Personally, I like it more than the VT. I know the VT/SansAmp have a crazy cult following, but I prefer the SFT for an SVT sound. There is something that I just don't like about the VT. The American is a really cool pedal. You just have to be a bit patient and explore the EQ capability.
