I bought the empty plate from Lakland & the electronics from Audere as it's a special flavor (slightly curved) for the DJ plate (that Audere doen't offer) & drilled the holes for the switch & LED.

Looking at that Audere in your Decade....hum....GAS building!

how does it compare to the J-Retro?

Both have a lot of tonal shaping/flexability, but I think the main differences are:

Price - Retro $300 new - Audere $150 new

Neither color the sound, but the Audere seems easier to dial in and it has the Z mode switch for quick predefined awesomeness!

Ferg, I dunno how much talent some of them have now, with all the lip syncing on tour and the Pro Tools and Auto-tune in the studio. As for Idol, the whole thing's just not my deal. Can't stand Simon, and never cared for the Clay Aiken and Taylor Hicks types.

But please do disclose what you're ninja-ing about! Were you a Mousketeer? The unknown New Kid, maybe?

Just got back from seeing George Porter Jr. play with John Scofield's "Piety Street Band." Mr. Porter was playing a Lakland BG, all natural, maple neck, white p/g.

Apparently for shows that require flying, he takes the Lakland and not his Fender.

Sounded AMAZING.
