Hell to the EM DJ YEH!!!!!

PS - can we call it that!??? If we do, will you start making Lakland send you $$$$????

Wonder how that would look with a thumb rest???

Haha. Call it what you will. It would be funny if other people wanted to cop my bass and called asking for an EM-DJ.

To be clear, I meant it as a joke. There is zero chance of an actual "e-mac" model. Though, I do have some nice design ideas.

By thumbrest, did you mean a 5th string??? I was thinking about an actual thumb rest between the pickups earlier today, but I'll wait on that for a while. No use drilling into the bass unless I'm sure.

you SERIOUS????? Where did it go?????

Man! you are finicky!!! you had for what - a week?

pfft...i just haven't found something i want to stick with. /shrug ....well...except for a certain bass in my avatar.

whew!!! done for now.....as stated earlier...my head is a spinnin!!!

BTW - who has my DJ5CS now?????

i bet you could figure it out, and it's not really your DJ5CS since it never had chi's while in your ownership. :D

If it had a Maple Board I might consider...but you are right the ol 76 has tone for days!

i didn't have it for too long. I was in a very very passive bass mode and just wasn't digging the tone. I look at the two basses with the 94 bodies that i've owned, the 4-76 and that 4-94C, and am dumbfounded on how I could let them go.

I miss that amber. The 4-94C was a looker, but the sound wasn't for me. The amber had looks and tone to kill.

Ferg, I'm guessing you're not interested in a sweet player's us jo?

Sweet Evan!

If I have to go without a pickguard, I can live. I'll get some clips of the fretless DJ this weekend or next week. I just need to get a better webcam. Any suggestions?

EDIT: I don't know if everyone will dig the tone on the fretless, but I really really do. I like the flats with the chi-sonics. I can get a deep roll on the neck and some bite from the bridge with quite a bit in between. Markus wasn't lying about these pickups.
