Niiiice!!!! You have some REAL sweeties there!!!!

how could you sell that???:rollno:

im sure you sonic blue dj will more than make up for it though

i didn't have it for too long. I was in a very very passive bass mode and just wasn't digging the tone. I look at the two basses with the 94 bodies that i've owned, the 4-76 and that 4-94C, and am dumbfounded on how I could let them go.

I miss that amber. The 4-94C was a looker, but the sound wasn't for me. The amber had looks and tone to kill.

Ferg, I'm guessing you're not interested in a sweet player's us jo?

If I have to go without a pickguard, I can live. I'll get some clips of the fretless DJ this weekend or next week. I just need to get a better webcam. Any suggestions?

EDIT: I don't know if everyone will dig the tone on the fretless, but I really really do. I like the flats with the chi-sonics. I can get a deep roll on the neck and some bite from the bridge with quite a bit in between. Markus wasn't lying about these pickups.

Actually i haven't used a webcam in so long. Honestly, i'd go with a digital video cam on a tripod over a 'webcam' any day.

I'll agree with you on the chi's...they are quite nice and aggressive...i'm really digging the latest addition.

J4 - so WHY does a Silver 55-01 get the avatar and not the SWEET DJ CS!!!????? hmmmm????

hm...i think i got rid of that one

oh man!!!! wish I had the cash to streal that from you!!! One day....one day....Amber MAY be replaced by a US Amber.....JUST MAYBE!!!

if you have any US Dj's to trade, i'd be interested, lol.

Seeing Evan's DJ and hearing a few different DJ's makes me want one. I asked Leo to keep on the lookout for one for me. I don't want to go with chi's just yet, if at all, on my next DJ.

and i'm done with 55-01's and 55-02's i think. maybe down the road i'll end up with another 55-94, but for now i want to get a jazz bass made by lakland.

IM a very stupid and very sad boy,

i just boxed up my decade for shipping:bawl:

if i had put the JO flats back on a day earlier, i would have never sold that bass:(

Now the question, and maybe you guys can help me decide.

1. do i call leo, and order the awesome U.S. Glaub-sonic that ive wanted
and the reason i sold the decade(for down payment)
2. call leo, and see if they have a black and maple skyline glaub, and have them put the humbucking chi in that, for an instant fix and save some dough????

Tough one Matty!!!! The white/black Glaub would be sick, but a Skyline would be "half" the price......(or there abouts!!!) and would sound just as good!!!:smug:

It's here!!:hyper:

Well, actually it showed up last week, but I finally had time to get some pix uploaded. 'Cause ya know what they say, no pictures, no bass...

Here's the Deluxe 4-94 fretless!!

I took off the flats (I'm pretty sure they're JO flat) that Bass Central shipped on it, and got a new set of DR Sunbeams. Still tweaking the set-up, but it's just wonderful!! Just like the fretted one, she's got Barts on her.

John-

Man!!!! Is that color deep!!! I love it!

How do the sunbeams act with the ebony? do they scuff? (ever searching.....)

I finally traded in my trusty 5501 cherryburst for a one yr old Skyline 5502 with the Lakland pups.

My 5501 was my go-to bass and weighed a ton, but it produced some nice tones. I had it for over five years and it never let me down. I was seriously thinking of putting some new pups and electronics in it, but when I saw this Cherrburst deluxe @ Club Bass in Toronto, and then felt how nice it played and sounded, I decided to just go for it.

The 5502 is much more articulate and balanced across all the strings. It really sits nice in the mix with my band. I always used to bump the bass control a bit on the 5501 but don't feel the need to with the 5502. I like the way it sounds flat. I'm still getting to know the different sounds the thing has with the MM and single coil instead of the soapbars.

I'm enjoying the 5502 a lot. Along with my JO5, they really make me love playing five strings. I don't take my Fender fours out as much with these two.

GREAT testimony right here!!! glad you like it!!! I agree on both accounts.....the 5-02 and JO5 are a GREAT pair that conver most every need!!!!

Anyways, then it got me thinking. Perhaps I could unleash Heavy's true nature by giving it a 70's pickup position like my Squier does!

I could always get another 60's bass later with a light Alder body, which I think is a more suitable for a vintage style.

I could probably hide the job better, though, since it has an opaque finish.

I know it's a bit sacrilegious, but I'm thinking I could really take advantage of Heavy's weight with this! What do you guys think? (puts on flame suit):hiding:

go for it and see what happens!!!!:hyper::bassist:
