I took these photos really fast on my way to return the bass, you know what the photo is horrible i get that all the time when i am selling parts on here, but what we have here is a gap, my guess is the glue was not dried and the strings were installed and tuned forcing the e string side down , totally flush and looking good and rasing the G string side, leaving a gap that i was able to fit the tip of a .73mm pick in , this then caused the paint to lift in that area. On the side of the neck you are able to see in the photo a white area, thats bare wood from this paint lift, then there was a tiny chip , where i think someone was using maybe a screw driver to try and force the nut down , it slipped and chipped the bass.
Honestly I was about to just live with it , i dont mind visible body wings , most basses have em unless the paint is super thick , the yellow binding is going to be there now or it will be in 6 months, a few light scratches , i feel the same about , but this would require removing the nut , the old glue , reseating it and then i still have a chip on my bass , i dont put those on my basses , there babied so i am not to hot about that.
If the next one doesnt have nut/neck or fret issues, its a keeper.
if your some fanboy and want to say I am a lair , keep walking I am not in the mood for that , go rub John Halls back
I have yet to see a box photo , so here was the box
