As far as a hard case the USA Cirrus cases fit the Milleniums perfectly. They have the same shape bodys,my black with the maple board Millenium came with one.
I still haven't gotten the hang of the sweepable mids. Who's boosting, who's cutting, and where?

I have a dumb question, what is the nut width?

On my 4 string:
From E string to G string it is 1 1/4 inches
The width of the neck at the nut is about 1 5/8ths.
Thanks! That makes the neck width very Jazz like...I have not handled a Peavey in a long time, but I am considering one of these...I love the red color pattern, though the blue is nice too!
The sweepable mid thing I must admit is a bit more complicated than most. Top knob is the amount of mid boost or cut. Center is flat, clockwise boost, counter to cut. Bottom knob is the frequency you're going to cut or boost. There's lots and lots of sounds in there.I think the best way to work with it is set it flat and get the closest to the sound you're looking for with the bass treble and blend knobs. Once you get that, then decide if you want more or less mids and turn the top knob accordingly. After that ya can hone in what exactly you're boosting or cutting with the bottom knob. Boost or cut as much as you want after you hear what tones you're affecting. Yep, lots of sounds in that thing.
I found the Bass Player issue with the Millennium 5 Plus review in it. It is January 2001 and has Geddy on the cover. Highlights: List price $1599 ($1799 as tested), weight 9 lbs, options bird's eye maple neck/board ($200), J-style bridge pickup, left handed version. They scored it as such out of 5 stars possible: construction 4.5, electronics 4, playability 4, sound 4, value 4. In their summary they called it a "great value"; "woods, hardware, finish and assembly are all top notch"; "attention to fine detail in design and construction are commendable, especially at this price". Their bottom line was "another amazing bass value from Peavey". As the owners know, these are great basses that don't get the recognition they deserve!![]()

Sweepable mids are the Millennium's blessing and curse. They make it very versatile, but they are complicated to use, kind of like higher end Alembics. This bass rewards patience.
Do you mean maple fingerboard? They all have maple necks.
