of course: i should have been clearer in my post. thanks for the response!![]()
One thing that occurs to me is that it might be generational, or more specifically, the degree to which someone regularly uses other social media where "likes" are a regular part of interaction. As someone who had never used Tweeter or BookFace, I wasn't too keen on the idea when "likes" were first introduced here, and I probably didn't use the "like" button for the first several weeks it was available because it just didn't occur to me to do so. It took me awhile to get used to the idea and figure out when/how I wanted to use them.Do you have any thoughts or theories regarding people who never "like" posts?
+1You get the most likes by saying something stupid or making someone look stupid, neither of which I like.
However, the Like system has gotten rid of all those pesky +1 posts so it's not all bad.
+1
The other day I was scrolling through a thread where a lot of people were pitching in to help a member, and I was looking at the likes to see what advice people agreed with most.
It occurred to me that the OP didn't acknowledge any of the feedback with a like.
I then realized that I don't believe I ever saw that particular member "like" a post.
Liking a post is absolutely not a requirement for TB participation, but to me seems like the, "polite?" thing to do?
I started me wondering about the personality of such people, cuz I'm interested in such things. Are these the same people who never say thank you when someone holds a door for them? Are these selfish people? Completely self absorbed? Are these people who are full of pride? Are these people who simply hate the idea of "likes" on the internet?
I don't know.
Do you "like" posts.
Why or why not?

Thought this might be interesting to kick around.
I got away with the meme then? It's OK, pal. I like you enough for both of us.![]()
.....Phew!....+1You get the most likes by saying something stupid or making someone look stupid, neither of which I like.

No likes for being slimy....So true. But I can tell, the members responding on this thread are the nice guys.
Why did it get shut down? I think it's a legitimate, and interesting thing to discuss. Telling why might prevent it from happening here.
