Oh the humanity!

The TV in my living room uses an internet connection to display program information on the channels it picks up over the air through the antenna, kind of like old school meets new. For some reason, the spot where the TV sits has always had a problem receiving a clean and clear wifi connection. We could never figure out why. The Roku plugged into the back of the TV doesn't have a problem, and the Blueray player sitting below the TV doesn't have a problem. But it made me mad that I intermittently could not see which episode of Star Trek was coming up on H&I or which SciFi show was playing on Comet. I finally broke down and bought a wifi extender box, plugged it in, set it up, and my TV once again is displaying program information. Thank the Goddess!

And this why I ran network cable through the whole house: cable always works. :D Sooner or later, WiFi will let you down, event if it's only for a very brief moment. I feel your pain.

This evening I had a problem that I've not had since I lived in a developing country:

We lost power (inexplicably I might add) for FIVE hours!

Happened often when I was in the Land of Smiles, usually on a rainy night. Sometimes I would go in to work, they were powered by gas turbine generators.

Tonight we just hung out at Mickey D's for a couple of hours, but I sat here in the dark for the last bit & I don't mean figuratively.

We got a false-alarm call from the folks next-door that the power was back on, but when we drove up the guys were still messing around on the pole from a bucket-truck, & Voila!
as soon as we got indoors, POOF!, off again!

Yes, we had false starts in a developing country, as well, LOL!
We never used to power in my neighborhood up until about four years ago. When it did go off it'd be off for a couple of hours. Then it started going off more frequently for most of a day usually. That's when I bought a generator. The last couple of years I got quite proficient in generator operation.
