I can't really say for sure .... but I just saw a quote by him stating it's a '54.
Doesn't make it a '54 though I guess.

Even the Custom Shop stripped down Sting's bass to make him an exact replica of it, and they were the ones who reported the 4/57 date.
The special thing about Sting's bass, is it's made with an alder body. '57 is when alder was started to be used in the burst finishes, the earlier years were ash.

Me and my MIJ Paisley '54 re issue.

It sat in the local music store for 2 years, and the price got slashed dramatically. The gig was a Breast Cancer benefit, and pink was the correct color choice.

I don't get to play it very much since leaving my blues band, but still enjoy it on the rare occasions that I do. It's now strung with SIT Silencer strings rather than the GHS tape wounds in the pic.
