Post Your '51-55 Precision or Tele-inspired bass

I can't really say for sure .... but I just saw a quote by him stating it's a '54.
Doesn't make it a '54 though I guess. :)

Even the Custom Shop stripped down Sting's bass to make him an exact replica of it, and they were the ones who reported the 4/57 date.
The special thing about Sting's bass, is it's made with an alder body. '57 is when alder was started to be used in the burst finishes, the earlier years were ash.

may as well post my paisley.

im not quite sure if i could pull off pink paisley or not, but i would sure love to try (it would match my favorite boxers though)... that is an awesome bass...

Warmoth J neck, bloodwood on 1/4 sawn maple, matching headstock by me
HipShot Ultralites
Vintage Vibe pickup. Alnico III, slight overwind for warmth
Threaded Barrel bridge
Dirnt body

9 lbs of thump

the working name is 'Opus' and I'm working on a T. Opus Penguin in Fruit Salad hat decal for the headstock. Maybe a pin-up Opus for the body ... gotta find the right shot ...
