Aren't they all works in progress???

I still need new cables, and I need to move that DOD to after the Micro Q-Tron to cover up its low end loss (didn't realize how bad that was til I put it behind the mixer). The only thing I could see losing real soon is the Metaphors.

what's the issue with the metaphors?

i'm thinking of getting one of these myself, but not if they're crap....

Check out www.bassfuzz.com and go to the non fuzz reviews, should give you a pretty good idea.

It's not horrible, but it wasn't doing anything for me that was significantly different than anything else on my board, and as a DI, it's pretty big (::sigh::, and noisy).

I think the short version is that it does a lot of stuff, but it doesn't to a lot of stuff well. Plus I got a SansAmp Acoustic DI for $30 so that saved me some space as well. Definitely try it out and make sure that there is something on it that you really like before you drop the cash.

Wow, the Bassdrive gets a lot of love here, I may need to check one out.

I just got the bassdrive about a week ago and so far I love it :) I had an MXR M-80 before but never liked the sound of the overdrive. I run it with a couple of different P basses through either my Genz Shuttle 6.0 with a 410 cabinet or if I want to move walls, my Genz GBE1200 through an Ampeg 410HLF and an Ashdown ABM414T.

If you are into really fuzzy tones, the bassdrive might not be the pedal for you. I like it because it gets a real nice "tube grit" type of sound, with or without boost. I set it so it gives me a nice kick of bite with grit type attack at just slightly higher volume level as my normal sound. If I need some more punch "up front" , I kick on the boost. If you leave it on, it cleans up nice when you back off your attack and bites when you dig in. It's a very quiet pedal and built like a tank. At first I wasn't sure I'd like it as there's no blend control and the bassdrive uses the full signal on it's overdrive. After using it now I find I like it. The OD is always full and fat and doesn't kill your tone (for me at least).

The 3 way mini switch for the comp, FM, and vintage modes gives you lots of options for OD.

So far very glad I got the bassdrive.

its messy- and about to be rewired/expanded- but the bright red thing in the middle is new- so- here it is:

OK, here's my new one. I've done a bit of rearranging since I took this picture, but the pedals themselves are the same.

Signal path now goes:

Bass -> LU-20 -> NS-2 input -> NS-2 send -> Dano Chili Dog -> Digitech EX-7 -> Digitech Bad Monkey -> Zoom Ultra Fuzz -> NS-2 return -> Visual Sound H20 -> Aphex Bass Xciter

The open spot between the NS-2 and the Xciter is reserved for my Tech 21 VT Bass that I've been waiting on for something like two and a half months.

been using tool460002 for everything since aol 56k- didnt even play bass then.

also- the os is what i wanted in a synth when i bought the ehx bass synth. it does that and more- very happy with it. way more variables. i need a while with it.
