Post Your Pedalboard - Part I

Yeah, I got alot of sorting out to do. I'm pretty much happy pedal wise, but its really messy with leads and stuff so I gotta get some cable ties, and I wanna get a Line 6 Echo Park at some point too. I've got alot of room, to spare, but I don't need much else...Just need a bit more effective layout...I'm not happy about the compressor being sideways, but its the only way the leads reach between the chorus, and the 2 Looper.

I origanally bought the chorus for the Uni-Boss/HPF mode and it works out incredibly well. I can get the guitar tone I've been looking for, and I get it on my Bass!!! I've also found a good setting on the chorus to add some punch to my normal bass tone.

I've taken out the wah/fuzz cus I never really thought of them a neccessary for any "band-type" tone I might have. I've just combined the two boards I'm gonna use for recording cus the only pedal I don't use for both tones is the MD-2! I'm planning on perfecting the two setups and doing some recordings in the next week or so. Hopefully by that time I'll get the pedal case and it'll be easier to move my FX around!

Hey DarkHarted, why not just get all the pedals you'd like, and then stick them all on a board so you never have to keep re arranging? Plus theres always more possibilities if you're in a band for when you're creating and such.
The thing is that my "band" sound for bass has always been just the PDDI. The wah/fuzz thing, though it sounds cool, just doesn't sound right for a band project.

As I said in my last post, I bought the CEB-3 for the HPF/Uni-Boss type effect to try and get the guitar tone I hear in my head. The funny part is that with the MD+CEB+PDDI I get that tone on my bass. So, I figured that I'd just combine the bass and "guitar" boards and make a "recording" board. That's when I figured that I might as well try the chorus with the PDDI using my bass settings. It provides some serious punch, and I can't wait to record some shiz! :bassist:

As for the wah/fuzz, one of these days I'll probably make a specific board for it, and end up spending a lot more money in the process :scowl:

First off, here is a pic of the board:

The only one that doesn't look metallish is the baby blue CEB, but damn does it add some punch. I never turn it off! Also, as you can see from the pic, the MD-2 is now cranked to the MAX! The jack in the CEB w/o a cord is for the Uni-Boss mode so that its just the effect (HPF) thats output. I really didn't experiment with different pedal placement, and I know I should probably use the loop of the NS-2, but it works, so I ain't gonna "fix" it ;)

As "promised", here are some recordings. The first is the full track (about 18 bars long) with bass, "guitar", and drums. The drum loop was done using a prog called Hammerhead Rhythm Station, imported into Audacity, and copied/pasted until it was long enough. The second and third are the bass and guitar tracks separate from the whole. The "guitar" is mixed 6 dB lower than the bass/drums :D but still seems to work out well IMO.

This is why I redid my board and took out everything that I wouldn't use is recording. I figure I might as well keep it as simple as possible!

Enjoy!
