I’ll give the GHS flats a try anyway just to cure my curiosity that’s been on my mind. I’m looking at the light gauge for starters after reading about the string to string tonal balance.
I would definitely suggest the light set (45-95) for both the tonal balance and playability. The smaller gauges for A and E seem to keep them from getting overly thuddy or muddy like some flats I've tried in the past. For example, La Bella 760L (43-60-82-104) and Fender 9050CL (45-60-80-105).
