Rejected Band Names

The Hookers and Blow band. Every guy loved it, every woman hated it. Trying to book the band when a lady was the bar contact was an excersize in futility. We changed the name.

Hi,

I'm not from anywhere near Athens GA but I actually have heard of Digable Planets...

Here's a band that maybe should've rejected their name, but it's great for shock value and controversy:

Watching this video makes me feel reeeeally old. :atoz:

I'm going to start a Spice Girls tribute band with my friends. We'll call it Old Spice.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Here's an idea used by a guitar player I worked with a long time ago. They could not agree on a band name, so they decided they would drop a phone book on the floor so it would open at random. The the band name would be the first name listed on the left page and the last name listed on the right page. The band become Osmett Park.

I was once in a band sort of named after a shopping center. The shopping center was Ogburn Station, but management thought the word Ogburn was to harse so we became Auburn Station.

Squirrel Damage. The original bass player (BL's brother) got cigarette burns in the family car on a camping trip, and claimed they were caused when a squirrel got in the car and ate crumbs off the car seats.

It was voted down. The only name not vetoed by at least one band member was The Swinging Pussycats, so that stuck.
