Yes, I do, I like my Sires better than my 1995 USA Precision Deluxe. The preamps are much better than the Fender, which is quite noisy. I haven't done a comparison to a current Fender USA, I'll admit that. But if Fender isn't paying attention, they need to be. The tuners got a lot of criticism early on, but they have held for 9 months as well as anything else does.

Nonsense, he plays his Sires quite a bit, there are plenty of videos out there to prove it, and when he's playing his Fender, the Sire is waiting on standby. Please stop posting false information.

Ok, I guess I missed that. But, I was really only pointing this out for someone who took a shot at Flea. I am sure there were plenty of shots of Flea playing his basses too, from what I have heard though, Marcus does not play the Sire much live.

So your source of comparison is a 21 year old Fender, nothing current. Good to know

I can tell you that just by looking at those tuners and bridge, they are not on par with the MIA Fender stuff. In fact they look exactly like the tuners that come on every import Squire, which they probably are. Also, a tuner is a worm gear, and physically cannot slip, so even the cheapest tuners will hold tune.

Exactly! This is just one in a long list of TB product fads that tend to rise in prominence and then fade over time. For awhile you'll see a bunch of NBD threads with Sire in the subject, and then down the road you'll see a bunch of Sires hit the classifieds. It's a TB tradition!

That is kind of what I was getting at actually. It doesn't seem like much time or thought was put into the logo at all, from the block letters to the placement. It makes me think, if they didn't put the time and effort into that, what else did they not really think through. Its kind of a first impression type of deal. TBH, I don't think Sadowsky did a very good job with their logo placement either.

I put a lot of time and thought into my logos and their placement on the headstock.

This thread has had me laughing all afternoon because I have experienced something similar in real life. I have a buddy who bought a Sire a few months back and literally every time I see him it is all he can talk to me about. At a party: "you need to try it out and it is the best bass for the money I've ever played". Between sets at one of my gigs: "I should have brought it for you to try out" etc, etc. etc.. I was finally at his house a few weeks ago and played it. It felt fine and sounded good (the pre-amp and variety of tones was the highlight in my mind) but he could not understand why I did not want to run out and buy one.

So then why is anyone fussing about what tuners the Sire vs. Fender has? They both keep a tune right? That's their one and only purpose.

I didn't read the whole thread cuz it's long and what not so this may have already been brought up... but.... LOL
The superiority of Fender/Squier/Squire is brought up in EVERY thread about EVERY brand imaginable.
If there is indeed a "Sire campaign"... I guess turnabout is fair play.

Show us those Sadowsky or Lakland threads where someone chimes in and say you should just buy a Fender cause it's better.
