Roscoe Club

Wow! What a great day! Thanks for sharing, Joe.

So, is that top you're holding for your next bass? (Your smile seems to indicate that might be the case.) If so, maybe Keith will let you route the neck pocket with your new best friend, Rockwell.

Very tempting Fritz. The neck for the Classic 4 felt really good and that ambrosia top would look really over the top (pardon the pun) on any bass.
Unfortunately Keith didn’t have a Classic 4 (Jazz or P) totally assembled for me to play but I could tell from holding the finished 4 string P neck neck that it would feel great.
May be one in the future!

Oh the pin router….

Looks like a great visit!

Lol
The pin router and I go way back!:D

It was an awesome visit. Keith told some great stories. Particularly related to the early days trying to get notable bass players to play his basses.
Such an honor and privilege to get to spend some time with him (and Kyle).
I definitely believe that Kyle is up for the task of taking our beloved Roscoe brand to the next generation (and level). He has absorbed so much knowledge and has excellent luthier skills. :)

Guess where I went today?

Here’s a few hints …..

And I finally met the “Pin router” in person!

What an awesome day! Keith and Kyle were just wonderful hosts! Definitely one of my bucket list top items!
I'M SOOOOO JEALOUS!!! LOL. Looks like a lot of fun Joe. Did you get a chance to play a singlecut?

Hey Deon. It’s still not strung up but the neck profile is the same as the Customs. The biggest surprise was how light 2 of them were. I’d guess they’ll finish up in the 8lb range.
It’s Kyle’s baby and he’s doing a great job on the design.

Fun day today in Blacksburg Va.
I stopped by and visited Greg at RocketMusic! Great guy and man did I purchase some killer Roscoes from Greg @RocketMusic (back in the day).
We talked a lot about those good ole days when Greg had more Roscoes in stock than any dealer anywhere!
Blacksburg is a Beautiful town. I believe that Virginia Tech is most beautiful campus that I’ve ever seen. Okie stone everywhere!

And I was telling Greg that while I was at Roscoe Keith showed me a bass being built for a guy that’s a “rocket scientist” so he wanted a special inlay on the finger board. Definitely a one of!

Great to see you, Joe! Safe travels back home.

Ahh, the good old days. I remember I made Greg play the first SKB I bought over the phone. I was nervous about such an expensive bass without playing it first. Did a number of deals with Greg, Gard and Keith.

The good old days!

I played my fretted Roscoe with the newly installed Pope Flex Core preamp this morning (for the 2nd time). The 1st time I played it we had just gotten the Bell-Heath personal monitors and the IEM tone was phenomenal. I thought maybe the new personal monitors may have been responsible for some of the tone but today they had the former Aviom 3rd gen personal monitors set back up (Bell-Heath were received under a trail deal) and the bass tone was crazy good again. So easy to dial in varied tones of great! Such a versatile on board preamp. The separate hi and lo mid controls, passive tone and active/passive mode (with very equal output w/o boost) just push this preamp over any others that I’ve tried in a Roscoe.

Keith mentioned that he had 2 orders in process that we’re getting a Pope preamp installed. Curious to get his take on the sound.
