S/D-85: Tasty clippings from Corey's Box

I heard about them when Easy Rider records first signed them, but overlooked them out of jealousy, if there is one label I'm really gunning to get signed onto, its Easy Rider. Red Desert, Salem's Pot, Sons of Huns, Monolord, there a few others but damn that roster is jacked and stacked.

Yep. Easy Rider's looking pretty damn good as a label for our unique beloved and yet feared genre. Hope one day I get the balls to hit them with my band. Probably one day.

I need to watch that again. I haven't seen it since I was 7 or 8 years old. It's still sort of a weird dreamy blur in my memory.

i watched the first 30 minutes on hbo or cinemax yesterday. seriously its an amazing movie, just not for kids whatsoever. if someone pitched that movie to a kid audience today, theyd never get another job again.

Its way more than 3 hours Pittsburgh to Columbus during rush hour and I'd have to take off two days of work just to go. Your situation would be similar if you lived in Chicago and had to drive that far to see shows in another city.

Fair enough. 2.5-3 hours is an ideal drive to chicago but I get what you're saying.

I've passed on a few shows because they were mid week and I didn't feel like burning the PTO.

Kadavar tour announced: Invalid Link Removed

No where near Pittsburgh... One of my favorite bands and I'll be missing them again. Really annoyed.

Welcome to living in Boise, Idaho. We get a lot of bands that not only skip playing Boise, but they still stay here to take a day off.

All of them coming from Portland or SLC. 6-7 drive to either city.

edit: and yup, that's what Kadaver is doing.

god damn that was sick. gotta convince the guitarist to rock the FZ-2

My guitarist has the Behringer FZ2 clone. It sounds killer - instant Electric Wizard. He won't use it for the current doom band, but is talking about starting a two-piece based around that pedal and E-Wiz worship.

Once again, I'm asking: "Why not just do that with the current band?"

Oh well, we have different ideas about things. So it goes.

There's a little bit of FZ-2 on the new bongripper record...I think some ended up on SWD too, our guitarist Nick has had one on his board for a few years now. Not his main tone, but he'll stack it with a Rat every now and then for some super gross fuzz tones.

Yeah, the price is pretty ridiculous. But, if anyone should own it that person should be you. The last link in your Dano effects chain.

I should email them. I'm dano incarnate and must have it by divine right.

Really I want their two paisley dirt effects. I think besides the psycho flange and the sitar swami there isn't anything else in my lineage of pedals beyond the crappy tuner.

A guy had the black and blue paisley for $40 a piece and sold them out from under me. I just check eBay and the only ones had sold and were like $160 + shipping.

Description from the V4 guy

6cg7 socket rewired to take 12ax7, and its got groove tube 7027s, well maintained, no issues, thanks..

Tell me everything I need to ask and look for and what years are important or lame or faulty...

Mods weird me out but for $400 it might be worth a gamble. But I would send it out to be put back to stalk. Now the one your looking at is the earliest version and for some reason those silver knob ones seems prone to failure. This is based on most I've seen and other peoples insights. Not a fact that all silver knob blow up. Yes this is the guitar version but their cool amps regardless and will work for bass. Miss anything else?

That's true.

Man v4/v4b demos make me want one baddd. That v4 on top of my dually would be a tasty mix I bets. I wonder how well it'll take pedals or do I need OD and distortion on that thing?

They take them swimmingly!
