My CV-4 has a neck that is so close to my fender jazz that my left hand can't tell any difference. They will not interchange, the Schecter neck is better so why even try?View attachment 3754278

That's a sweet looking bass but I'm talking about the new CV4 basses. I don't know if the necks are the same.

The nut width on the new CV4 is listed as 1.653" and Jazz basses standard is (I think) 1.437".

Although in that picture of your bass there, the nut looks really similar to that jazz bass.

Who knows, I might get it and love the Schecter neck anyways!! Problem solved!! Just thought I'd ask

The CV4 on Schecters website specs a 34" scale. The CV5, 5 string specs @ 35" Scale.

As far as neck pockets between brands, it hit or miss and usually miss. IMO, it's likely that the CV4 neck pocket is unique to the Bass but, you may find something else that was manufactured in Indonesia that interchanges. It's hit or miss. Maybe you'll get lucky and someone has the dimensions.

I have 4 Schecter Model T's from various years and only 2 of the necks interchange.

Those CV4s look awesome. My Schecter Diamond C4 was my favorite bass ever, and the only one I regret getting rid of. It also was one of the easiest playing necks I've ever had.

Changing between scales using a simple neck change is not a great idea and it is more than likely that the bridge would not be able to compensate. The C4 neck seems like the width at the nut is between a P and J. I have played a couple and don't remember them being that thick. If you miss the Stiletto, why not grab one of those? There are plenty of used ones available in the same configuration you had before. Sure the Stiletto is more expensive, but if you liked the bass and regret selling it, then maybe it would work for you.

The bolt patterns might be an issue as well

I met a friend on here who has the latest CV5 and he is amazed with it. Besides the quality construction and play-ability, they're so versatile for the different Tones/sounds you can get out of one. I can't believe what you can get a new one for. I love the 3 tone Sun-Burst model with that Maple neck. If I didn't have 20 Basses at the moment, I'd be tempted, LOL. Can't go wrong, IMO.
I use to prefer the wider necks and I really don't have a problem with either. I'm about half and half with my current Basses. I do have smallish hand and now that I'm getting old I'm finding the Jazz width necks slightly more comfortable.

I was wrong, the Schecter is a smaller neck than the fender and has a smaller grouping at the nut..

I know!! The number of features on this bass is crazy for the price. Graphite rods in the neck? Series/split/parallel for each pickup? Lightweight tuners? Yes please! I love that it's passive. I also think the body shape/aesthetic design is beautiful.

Gonna start saving and hopefully can snag one of these in the near future. I'll have to head up to GC and see if they have one I can mess around on. It'd be awesome if they had a CV5 so I could see if I mind the 35" scale. 'Cause I wouldn't mind getting a 5er.

Oh, yeah I didn't mean today (or any time in the near future). We jut went under "shelter in place" as of today here in Ohio so I'm assuming they're all closed until at least April 6th (which is when the governor said they're going to reassess).

Just maybe some ideas here, so for what it is worth I’ll mention the following. I have done countless projects like this over the last 30 some odd years. In my opinion, if you are trying to “mate” any two items together, regardless of whether the are from the same manufacturer or not, plan to modify only ONE of them, leaving the other original. Don’t modify both. An example here would go something like a person has this great neck, but wants to put on another brand or style of body. So the neck stays original, and make body mods or changes as necessary. Flip all of that around if the body is more important to you. ANY project can be made to work out if you throw enough time and money at it. Also plan on keeping this one for like “ever”, actually way beyond that. Unfortunately stuff like this really suffers if at some point you decide to sell. Absolutely do NOT mean to “rain” on your parade, so don’t take it that way. I am, or was, a “Mod” guy from the get go. Also add up the cost of doing all of this to get what you want, verses taking that same amount of money and getting something pretty close. You might be surprised. I know, us old guys are no fun, and have zero personality. Wish I could be there, we would make it happen, the outcome would be the same however. Anyways, I picked up an Evil Twin-4.. It might be a bit much for a noob but I don't care, I absolutely love it. I can't walk by it without grabbing it.

Lot’s of choices out there these days, but regardless of model, style, or number of strings, these are an excellent value for the money. Just my opinion.

Anyone out there try the new P5s? I found this at Drum City Guitar Land in Colorado. They also have the P4 ivory in lefty form. Strange that these lefties aren't shown on Schecters website. I've been looking for a lefty passive P lately. I like Fender Ps but they do not offer a 5 string version.

Yes, 4 of my 7 Schecters have necks with the fretbords that overhang past the neck pocket. 3 of my 4 Model T's and my dUg Bass overhang.
