Hi again, after a lot of deliberating have decided to upgrade my Extreme 4 to 2010 MIA fender Jazz Deluxe. However, am definitely keeping the Extreme 4 as a second bass.

Thinking of giving it an upgrade though to take it from great to awesome.

Anyone got any ideas on some good mods for these?

Oh that is pretty cool. I am down to a pair of 5ers right now. And until money improves it will be that - probably til the summer. But when its time for 4 string again Schecter is tempting me between the 004, the Raidens and the new P and J basses.

I recently played it again through 20K+ watts at a friend's venue after hours, during a 2-man jam session. Four-foot stage on a concrete floor, 50' ceiling, 4 JBL 18s and 4 Eminence 15s under the stage, Yamaha mains, run through my pedalboard including a 1985 DOD Overdrive pedal, '87 Ibanez delay, and '81 Peavey reverb pedal, miked through a 350W tube-pre head into a 215 cab.

The mix was so LemmyGeddy sounding I thought I was going to lose my mind!

Elixers, 105. It came with two extra sets of strings, Roto 66s Elixers, besides the unknowns that were on there which I think are 110. The unknowns had some grime and weren't real bright, so they didn't stay on long. HOWEVER, I do still have them and I swear in my dreams I've thought about DNA testing. But then I'd have to have a sample in the database to match, and I don't think He has ever been arrested... haha.

Has anyone had any positive/negative experiences with the Damien 4?

I tried one yesterday and loved it, though the model I tried was a discounted ex rental, and carried significant fret buzz, the guitar tech at the store said he would make some adjustments to the TR so I plan to go back and check it out again...

Any thoughts would be much appreciated...

I'd love to know how this plays and how it sounds. With the J-MM set up it must be killer; that, and it's in my favorite shape Schecter offers.

There aren't sufficient words to describe just how sweet this little baby plays and sounds. I've spent the past couple of hours noodling around figuring out what sound she's capable of by tweaking all the little various knobs and such. After that experience - just give me a cigarette and let me enjoy the afterglow.

She's going in Saturday to the luthier for a good once-over and probably new strings, but all in all, a great buy on this jewel. This is a fast-favorite unless I fall in lust again.
