Bought this Stiletto Elite 5 on sale at Guitar Center back in '08. I was in the market for a 5-string at the time, and had no preconceptions of makes or models. The Stiletto 5s really surprised me - awesome sustain, great playability, and good tonal range. Even though the Studio was theoretically higher end, I prefered the tone on the Elite. I was prepared to pay more, but pleased that I didn't have to.

It's not a great photo - it's from a cell phone - but can I have a number, huh, can I, huh? ;o)

Just curious if anyone's changed out the OpAmp in those noisy EMG BTS active controls that come OEM on many Schecters.

The 062 OpAmp is kind of a mysterious choice as it uses more power, has more noise and a slower slew rate than several other choices.

Just got my 1st Schecter, an Elite Stilleto 5'er. bought it used off ebay. Couldn't be happier! Took it to practice last Thursday night and when I hit the open B it knocked the clock off the wall! Everyone in the band busted up at the busted up clock. So now the bass has been christened "The Clockbuster":D

I'm now the proud owner of a shiny new Schecter 004! I moved from a First Act to this baby and the difference is night and day. See the finger prints all over it? That's because I can't put it down. I even brought it to work today (I...um....I've been getting looks....) But seriously, it's amazing the sounds I'm getting out of this thing. Can I have a number now? Huh, can I can I can I? :hyper:schecter 004.jpg

Where? I just looked and saw a couple of nice basses, but no 004s at all.

So I noticed that one of them is gone... was that you?

These are cool basses, I used to own one of the black ones w/the maple FB. Perhaps if I own another 4-string in the future this one could do it. Although.I have seen those Stargazers (basically the 004 with a few mids) and they look cool too.
