Or you can look at it like the EA adds midrange articulation and aggression to the rather dark-sounding Schroeder.
Funny thing is, the 1212 plus one CXL-112 isn't much different from the 1212 plus two CXL-112s. I'm actually in touch with a talkbasser about selling one of the EAs cuz it seems really unnecessary now.

[I do wish the tweeter had a square horn on it so the horizontal dispersion would be the same either way.]

Sorry, I don't have any experience with the Aggy 500, but the Sunn might just be the ticket you're looking for. I have a Schoeder 1210 and I wouldn't characterize it as an "old school" sounding cabinet. With a little EQ magic (rolling off the highs, boosting the lows and mids) I've been able to get a fair approximation (keep in mind my head is a GK 1001RB-II... Not exactly the ideal head for old school).popinfresh said:All these guys (Especially martinie) get awesome growl and grind. My amp choices have been narrowed down to a Sunn 300T or Aguilar 500.
Using either of these amps, could a schroeder cab get the growl i'm looking for? I'm thinking maybe a 410+212 setup or something.. Other cabs i've been looking at are Aggy's..
