This looks great!

Quick question. Did you custom order your TA Duo 13 (back when they were offering this option) or did you chop down a Duo 17?
I actually chopped down my Duo24…I like/still use my Duo17, but the Duo24 was just too large for my taste/need.

Fwiw.…I decided on the Duo13 size, figuring that I’d put my Quad Cortex on it, which fits perfect with a single row of holes open on each side for LED lighting. Ultimately decided to build a custom standalone pb for the QC, but have found the Duo13 to be quite optimum for ^^^ use. (Pb design-work is one interest that keeps my “retired” brain challenged …)

Are you actually using the Cioks if you just have the Quad Cortex?

Good question, yes—I’d rather just take it out of a modded SKB case and plug in a typical IEC power cable. My QC is only 1/8” higher from the floor, vs sitting on a PT Metro board. (There’s room for a 10’ IEC cable at the bottom of the SKB case…)

What did you use to chop it down? Band saw?

Table saw with 10” metal cutting blade…had to take several passes to clean up the cut side, as the blade always wanted to force the board slightly off line. (Needed to take all the saw safety features off, for the board to pass thru…) It’s the only tool I had available.

If I were to do another one, I’d go find a local metal shop and have them laser cut it quickly and cleanly.

Edit/add: I spent quite a bit of time figuring out precisely where to cut so that the end cap and handle screws (when reinstalled) fit properly and looked OEM/same distance to the first set of LED holes as the other side.
