Show your Bill Fitzmaurice cab

Bill I registered for your forum yesterday. Was wondering if you might take a shot the questions I posted above while we wait for my account to be activated, if I promise to pose the same questions on your forum as per your suggestion?

Your account was activated yesterday.

Here's a pic of my Omni 10.5 in the nude! (I think mine is the one in the middle...:eyebrow:
:hyper:

View attachment 61104

It's being built by Maurice Carr and I should have it next week!

What is the difference in the 10.5 and the O10? I can't seem to find the description of the 10.5 on the website. I too have applied in the forum today and waiting to be activated or I would ask there.

Thanks...Chris

I'd love to hear from Omni 12 builders who use their cabinet for bass. Any tweeter-less O15 or O12 builders here?
I still have, plus have built O12 and O15, tweeter and non-tweeter

Refer my Activebass home page - there're pics of my demo cabs.

In the review section of the BFD forum is a review of the O12 by a guy in Korea that I sent my O12 demo to. http://billfitzmaurice.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2879

So....what would you like to know?

... So....what would you like to know?...

Well since you're offereing.....

I currently own a GK 212NEO and GK 115NEO speaker cabs, and push them with a GK 1001RBII. The 212NEO covers 98% of the things I do. With 115 added it sounds HUGE, but typically is not necessary. Primary music styles are funk, jazz/fusion, classic rock/blues. I use a five string bass as well.

What cabinet(s) would you recommend to me?

SSsshhhhhh......that was #4 - not shown in the picture!

but hey....they get an extra wide brace on the other side! :ninja:

If you extended the other side as well, you could offer free shipment on these models. Just throw it up high enough in the air whenever the wind is blowing in the right direction and it should get there :smug:

The O10 however can be wired for either a 4ohm or 8ohm load.

I guess that should be either 4 ohm or 16 ohm (unless you use two 16 ohm drivers, but not all recommended drivers are available in 16 ohm).

What cabinet(s) would you recommend to me?
Just a couple more questions first;

What sort of transport do you have for your gear - it's important to know because there are several options and I could recommend something that may not fit into you car/wagon/ute/whatever.

Similar about the venues you use, tight stairways??? Tight doors???? What sort of restrictions?

How would you rate your woodworking skills on a scale from 1-10? 1 = what's a nail? 10 = journeyman cabinet-maker ?

Honda CRV (mini SUV)

Not any tighter than normal (?) (30" doorways)

My biggest piece of equipment currently is 21"W x 26"H x 16"D, and fits easily anywhere I go. It could be bigger. I generaly don't have to content with stairs at all, exepct for once in a blue moon.

My woodworking skills fall in the middle - around a 5-6. I own the plans to the DR250, and I don't think I could do a decent job building one as first project, not solo anyway.

Wiring and electronics are another matter, my day job being a controls engineer/automation techie.
