Before we go Acoustic bashing,there are still a huge number of old players out there who owned or still own and play Acoustic amps who may have their own opinions on how that grey box looks compared to thier Acoustic amp-obviously you are expressing your opinion...and we can't even begin comparing the sound of the 2 cabs(are you referring to the most famous Acoustic 361 or the 371 cabs-2 differerent animals... or other Acoustic cabs) until there are more of those "Grey" cabs around so they can be AB'd side to side...many of the Acoustic amps were clearly one of the best amps made in their time -and quality and sound-wise,some feel they still are. Peace...DAcat ...

That Omni 15 Tallboy looks interesting. What are the measurements? I see on the site that it's 39" high and 20" wide but what is the depth? Appox weight?

Will this have the same specs as the regular Omni 15?

17" deep - same as the original Omni 15.

Appox weight?

About 70lbs in baltic birch, less in spruce/pine/poplar.

Bill is very responsive to good ideas. Alex broached this one on the BFM forum, and it caught fire immediately.

Personally, I like the tall boy model a whole lot better than short, squat boxes. My T30 doesn't get any use for exactly this reason. On the other hand... if you are doing multiple boxes, the standard O15 is built by Mike Childress is superior to the tall model. Mike did his in mirror fashion specifically for stacking. The height is not excessive and sonic quality is the best.

David, in the shots where the DR's are on top of each other, is that a gap I see between the two cabs? Are the DR's slightly trapezoidal are they?

And out of curiosity, what did you put between the cabs to make the front baffles sit perpendicular to the the floor?

What finish is that?

Its paint....Duratex is the name in the states but in the UK this stuff is produced by Aldcrofts. Very quick drying, applied with a textured roller.

The DR cabs have a standard 4deg top and btm panel. This is to help smooth response and also allow the cabs to be line arrayed in curve when used as PA...(which is my main use)

I simply add feet to the bottom to allow the cab to be stacked.

There is a fix coming for the dip at 2 KHz. I have to build four DR280 for my PA system, so I'm holding off until the fix is released.

The DR250 looks like a good fit for me, but I don't know if they are sedan friendly. If I were looking for something portable, which would you suggest. I can tote around my GS410 now, but it is a tough fit.

I suggest you get a hatchback.
Barring that the Omni 10 is your best bet. Subs are out of the question, and even a DR250 won't fit through a car passenger door.
