That is a cool looking bass! The inlays are almost the reverse of my Ric.

oh ya your black ric is beautiful, leave the binding, as it sets it apart from a lot of others models out there what do not have it....and the inlays are similar for sure. I was always a sucker for triangle inlays.

It's not plain regular black, I don't know what type of paint this is called but it can be seen better in non-black finishes like this guy's :
